Code:
wget http://music.hadm.net/~keith/xbmc_atv2/org.xbmc-020111_atv2-arm.deb

You were absolutely right. Thanks so much friend.

Thanks for the tip. Learning so much. Cheers

rawillkill Wrote:$ dpkg -i org.xbmc-020111_atv2-arm.deb

So does that mean the next instruction:

$ rm -rf (file from url) will be

$ rm -rf org.xbmc-020111_atv2-arm.deb ?

Just wanted to be sure.

Thanks

yes. the last command simply removes the .deb after xbmc has been installed. think of it as housekeeping-like you are deleting a .dmg or .zip file after installing a program.

I *love* the fact I can SSH into this tiny little box attached to my TV from work and install the latest nightly...!

Thanks Meshuga.

chad473 Wrote:Increase in buffering so far here. I'll throw some more files at it tonight but may revert back to 2/1 to compare tomorrow. One file in particular that was fixed with 2/1 is back to buffering every 30 seconds or so.

I am having the exact samme problems as Chad473 when it comes to buffering when using wifi. Please also see http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=92842.

Over the last couple of builds it has greatly improved. I havnt done enough testing to tell if this last build is a step backwards... but just like others i am getting buffering in "high action" parts of different movies. Hope you can look into this.

Doombelly - I was having this problem with the official build, but the problem has all but went away using the nightly build. I am on 802.11n using a Linksys/DD-WRT router and very happy as of late. What is your network spec?

Just to report back with the 02/03 build, the issue reading MP3 tags from an SMB source is all fixed. Everything looks just as it does on the other platforms.

The only thing I noticed is that Last.fm song submission doesn't submit anything. Not really a big deal, just thought I'd give a heads-up.

EDIT: So I was checking my Last.fm profile and I saw one of the songs while I was listening to it and then refreshed and it was gone. Happened with 2 tracks in a row. About 10 seconds after the song started, I refreshed and the track was listed, then about 10 second later refreshed my profile and the track was gone. I don't know if the submission script does any editing or checking on tracks but it looks like stuff is getting added and removed. Hope this helps. Oh, and all these tracks are from the same album with all v1 and v2 tags filled out.

cheers, amazing work.

Try again. Remember to right click and goto "Copy Link Address' since vbulletin obfuscates the url. (adds the ... in the middle)

thanks that worked

I have some MKV files with embedded subtitles and want to turn them off. I'm on the 2/1 build about to update to 2/3. I can't see where to turn them off. I see where to change font and what not, but not disable. Searched the forums but didn't seem to find an answer. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

hold down play button while video is playing. it will popup an OSD at the top of the screen. The settings are under there.

It just pauses the video. I see no OSD.
