RE: [REL] PleXBMC - Fofer - 2013-02-22

I've gotten v3.1.1 installed on my ATV2, with OS 5.2, running XBMC v12 "Frodo" and by and large it's working well, playing movies I've got set up on my Mac via Plex Media Server. Awesome, thanks so much!

I do however notice that when I try to access my myPlex Queue, I get a script error. I have double, triple, and quadruple-checked my username and pass, it is the same username and pass that gets me into https://my.plexapp.com/queue.

But after numerous failures the myPlex account gets locked and I need to unlock it in order to access it again on my Mac.
I know I am entering my username and pass 100% correctly on the ATV2. But for some reason the PleXMBC plugin isn't sending it correctly and letting me log in.

The myPlex Queue is my favorite reason for enjoying Plex, so it would be awesome if I could get this working, Do I need to pay for a "PlexPass" for this feature to work?

Any help appreciated...

I have tried the different settings hippojay suggested but still picture freezes for a couple minutes.

File is on same system as PMS.

Playback is handled completely by XBMC - plex will hand off a URL or smb:// (or file location) and it will be played like any other content.

No need for plex pass, let me check nothing has changed that's stopping authentication. Also, my queue isn't working 100% with all channels.

RE: [REL] PleXBMC - Scott R - 2013-02-23

I just installed OpenELEC on an SD card to see if it performs better on my old Acer Revo 1600 nettop (ATOM/ION) compared to to the Win 7 XBMC build I had been using. Can someone advise if there's a way for me to directly download the PleXBMC add-on from within XBMC without needing to download the zip file? If I have to download the zip file, I assume I can just use Filezilla to get it onto my Revo? Downloading these add-on zip files is one thing that seemed a lot easier when I was running under Win 7 vs a Linux build.

RE: [REL] PleXBMC - mzup - 2013-03-05

I decided to come back and work on getting this working on my OE system and now get an error just trying to open it. I played around with the settings and even uninstalled and reinstalled from the zip file. When I go to configure it, it doesn't seem to be seeing the plex server anymore. I verified it is running and I can connect to the server through SMB.
Here is my log file:

In case anyone else wonders about this, I did find that the OpenELEC install sets up a couple of SMB fileshares for you automatically, so that you can easily see these OpenELEC folders from another computer (in my case, my MacBook) and drag/drop files over easily.

Hi,
First time poster. I am not sure whether this is the correct forum, but I will ask away, if it isnt apolgies, just let me know where it is better directed.
I recently installed PlexBMC on my ATV2, (PleXBMC V3.0.7 for XBMC 12.0/Frodo, PleXBMC Helper V3.0.5 & Quartz V3 PleXBMC 0.7.4). Everything looked great when I went to bed but when I checked in the morning, every time I start XBMC the plex skin comes up briefly (2 seconds) then it crashes out to the ATV home screen.
Thinking back when I installed the PleXBMC Helper the installation appeared to hang, and subsequently I did see a few error messages from it. Might be releavent.
Any who, heres my xbmc.log - http://paste.ubuntu.com/5592865/ Anything screamingly obvious?

RE: [REL] PleXBMC - apiontek - 2013-03-08

I just installed PleXBMC and it's working great for integrating the MyPlex Queue into XBMC, one of the main things I've been missing.

The other thing I was hoping would work is using the Netflix Channel from Plex inside XBMC. I searched the thread and I don't see anyone saying it shouldn't or doesn't work, but it's not working for me; it doesen't even show up amongst the Channels in PleXBMC, although it exists in Plex and plays in Plex on my Mac, my Win 8 Plex app, and my Android Plex apps.

Is it just not supposed to work in PleXBMC?

Is there a way to remove those selections but still allow browsing remote servers?

I track the origin of servers - so it's fairly straight forward to exclude/group shared servers. My problem has always been how to display them.

When run as a basic addon (non modified skin through the video-> addons menu) then the owner will be displayed against sections.

However on modified skins, I often don't have the space to pass this information. I can create a link called "shared", either under each heading, or a single one, which would create a list of shared sections and owners.

How does that sound?

First off wow. I didn't expect such a quick, amazing reply. I guess I should have mentioned in my first post that I'm running the latest plexbmc on an Frodo (Apple TV2) with the modified Quartz theme.

The UI I'm most used to is the Plex client for Apple TV and I have found that the 'server list' functionality has worked very well. Regardless of what you call it I think it would be a useful addition. That way I'm only browsing my selections by default and I have to intentionally select another server (this is fairly important to me as some friends have good bandwidth and others don't).

When going through the transcoding options I noticed a bandwidth config but no differential between local and remote server. Is that something that is handled by the plugin?

Thanks again for your quick response.

I'd echo these points exactly. I am on Quartz 0.7.4 (PleXBMC 3.1.2). Did you get any further with your thoughts on this?

OK, I re-jail broke, installed a fresh XMBC and went straight to 3.1.2 (no remote app) and all seems good. :-)

RE: [REL] PleXBMC - CptanPanic - 2013-03-08

I am also having problems with plexbmc not showing my library. Should I install 3.1.2, or 3.1.1?
Thanks,
CP

Any plans of supporting Confluence again? No fan of quartz Smile

RE: [REL] PleXBMC - Matt Devo - 2013-03-10

Having a few issues, and have read the threads here and on the Plex forums but have not seen them addressed:

Running PleXBMC 3.0.7/3.1.2 (same issues on both) on OpenELEC 3.0 RC4 (2.99.4 / XBMC 12.0), and am able to communicate with my PMS and play locally stored media perfectly. I am having some issues with the channel support however:

- Of the 3 channels I have installed (Amazon, Hulu, Netflix), only Amazon shows up under the channel list when running the PleXBMC addon from a non-PleXBMC skin, eg Confluence.
- all channels show up when running Quartx PleXBMC skip, however
- Hulu logs me in etc, but will only play non-Hulu Plus content (I have a Plus account)
- Netflix logs me in, shows my queue etc, but no streams will play. I get the following error:

RE: [REL] PleXBMC - hippojay - 2013-03-12

I probably should have pushed this out a week or so ago, but have been a bit busy.

All code is enabled for auto-update via repository, so if you have installed that, no need to manually install the zips

PleXBMC 3.1.3

Upgrade the BETA 3.1.2 to a stable release - I've been using it the last month without issue
  • ADD: if using myplex, optionally move all shared sections to a seperate "Shared..." Menu item to reduce clutter
https://repository-plexbmc-addons.googlecode.com/files/plugin.video.plexbmc-3.1.3.zip

PleXBMC Helper 3.1.1
  • ADD: Set volume via remote
  • FIX: Upgrade issue which may have stopped web server from starting (XBMC not giving me enough time!)
  • FIX: file capitalisation issue in git
https://repository-plexbmc-addons.googlecode.com/files/script.plexbmc.helper-3.1.1.zip

Quartz V3 PleXBMC 0.7.4
  • Merge in changes from source Quartz V3/4 by Pecinko
  • Recentre shelf thumbnails at top,to reduce cut offs
https://repository-plexbmc-addons.googlecode.com/files/skin.quartz3.plexbmc-0.7.5.zip

Maybe - i'm getting to teh end of the line adding stuff into PleXBMC, so maybe i'll look to quickly mod a few skins.

(2013-03-10, 08:30)Matt Devo Wrote: any thoughts are appreciated.

Sorry, I've not been able to test with hulu and netflix as I'm UK based as the API doesn;t extend this far over the Atlantic. However, as mentioned above, i'm running out of thinsg to ad, so may well refocus on the missing channels to see what can be done.

I've got an AppleTV 2 as well, on OS 5.2, jailbroken, with XBMC v12 and now PleXBMC 3.1.3. What Trailer button are you talking about? I was able to install, and use, the "Apple Movie Trailers" channel inside Plex. (But if I'm on the AppleTV 2 I'd just as soon use the Trailers app in the native OS.)

RE: [REL] PleXBMC - jakepe88 - 2013-03-12

in the movie information there is a possibility to choose a trailer - but in the Plexmbc this button is greyed out ..
