[REL] PleXBMC - pecinko - 2013-07-30

Working fine on osx. Report a bug to rpi guys - subs should be downloaded to temporary folder and shown if NAS location is not available.

Hi,

When i try to play .avi files i get an error saying
Script failed!: plugin.video.plexbmc and in the log i see this:
Playing mkv works fine.

I have the same problem on my Windows 8 HTPC and my Rasberry Pi running rasbmc.
PMS running on a Ubuntu Server.

Any idea?

RE: [REL] PleXBMC - Nainboiteu - 2013-08-11

Hi,
First of all, thanks very much for this fantastic add-on. 
But unfortunately, i've got a small issue, it is not working with transcoding enabled.

I've tried under Mac OS X, and Android (both Frodo, 12.2). When transcoding is disabled, everything works fine, but when it's on, i've got an error telling me to go check the log (included at the end of the post).

I'm outside home, and my internet is very slow, that's why I need transcoding.

PS: The log was a bit long, I hope I didn't get rid of something important...

Would you happen to know what that temporary folder path might be? I'm thinking it's maybe a linux permissions issue, as I am having the problem with subtitles as well, for a very long time now.

It is possible in theory but I very much doubt it will happen. You can delete manually from context menu but I guess you already knew that.

I've been using this addon for a few months, and I love it. I have one question or problem.

Before I started using plex, if I wasn't home, I would VPN into my network and watch movies and tv shows from my server over a http connection. When I would press pause, the video would continue to load into memory or buffer. If I left the show on pause long enough, the entire show would be in the buffer. In my advancedsetting.xml file, I have cachemembuffersize set to 0.

With pleXBMC at home on my network, the buffering works correctly. If I connect to my server over the internet, it does not buffer, even though I have the two computers set up the same way. For example, a few days ago, I was watching a movie and needed to do something, so I put the movie on pause. When I came back, the movie failed to restart. I had to restart the movie from when it stopped. It wasn't a big deal, but it just doesn't work the way I think it should. Did I just get luck and set something up correctly at home? Is there a setting on the Plex Media Server that I do not see?

I don't know if you could do this or not with this addon. It would be great if you could add the function of showing a picture for folder icons. When browsing, if there is a folder.jpg inside a folder, it would be great if the addon shows that instead of the generic plex icon. This is the normal behavior when you are browsing with XBMC.

Most of the ones I've added (Disney, ESPN, Netflix) work fine from another media player I have (GoogleTV), but with PleXBMC I can view the list of videos for most of these, but get script errors when trying to play them.

I have encountered a streaming problem when i updated my Plex media server to anything above version 0.9.7*



Usually i browse my plex movies through my web browser and choose to "play on plexbmc client". But after i upgraded my plex server plexbmc and the helper just crashes when i do this. I can choose to stream a movie on my xbmc if i have it in "plex" mode, but not through the plex server web page on my computer.

I have watched the logs, and to me it seems like the plexbmc script tries to connect to localhost? (itself) to stream to itself? But this just seems wrong.

I have tried to set master server, and manually enter the IP of my plex server, but the same thing keeps happening.

I have copied the logs that appear when i choose to play a movie on plexbmc client via the web page, the link is here:

I really dont want to downgrade my plex server install to 0.9.7, since it is at 0.9.8.6 now with quite a few improvements to playback/transcoding.

Is there a simple solution to this?

Also the shelfs are not showing anything.

I'm using XBMC Gotham Alpha 8 and PleXBMC 3.2.2
PMS is online and reachable with Plex/Web, iOS App and PMC.

Hey All, I love plexbmc, is there a way to get the plex library (from PMS) to show up in xbmc remote without navigating through FIles/Folders?
the plex app from what I can tell has no WOL support where as the xbmc remote does (and I love that feature).
I am currently sharing my library via NFS with a central mysql DB. I would like to move to Plex Media Server and be done with NFS/MySQL but not having the library come up easily in the xbmc remote is a real shame :/
