I could not get connection with my laptop using iphone4.i have the app XBMC.
I set the ip adress, then went to video-add source-browse-windows network smb ( i have the ip as well there in the settings) i get error share not available.
please help it there a link how to set up the xbmc on iphone4 net work to access my laptop.
and i would like to do that for my ps3 if it possible.

I'm pretty confused about your saying "I set the ip address." Are your laptop and your iPhone on a network that doesn't set the password up for you (aka a dhcp network)?
