Auto Download of Movie Cover Art and Banners - longsh0t - 2011-01-29

I'm a long time Meedio/MeediOS user but I wanted to try out XBMC after receiving an ATV2 as a gift. I tried it out on a spare desktop and setup my libraries for movies and TV shows. For movies, I set IMDb as as my scraper and imported. It found the files just fine but the issue I'm running into now is that the DVD covers are just screen grabs of the movies themselves and no movie information is being downloaded.

My other issue is with TV Shows. I use SickBeard which is downloading the fanart and season covers but how can I get it to download the wide banners? From the research I've done they need to be named folder.jpg but I'd rather not download each one individually if I don't have to.

Thanks in advance.

So I used "Media Companion" to download dvd covers and posters which have been named "folder.jpg" in each individual movie directory. I deleted my database and libraries and try reimport the movies but it still doesn't use the folder.jpg for the cover. I was able to go into Movie Info and manually update it but this is not an ideal solution. I assume that there's a way to automate this?

So the issues keep on comin'

If I remove the source (Videos > Movies > CM > Remove Source) it doesn't delete the items from the Movies menu (using Aeon skin). Also, attemping to delete individual movies (Movies > CM > Remove from Library> doesn't do anything. The movies are still there. Even after deleting the database from USERDATA the movie items are still there. >.<

In hopes that someone can help me with these issues here is my current structure for media

\\server\movies\genre\moviename
moviename.mkv
moviename.nfo (created by Media Companion)
moviename.tbn (created by Media Companion)
moviename-fanart.jpg (created by Media Companion)
folder.jpg (created by Media Companion)

How can I use this information to populate my libraries in XBMC? It seems like this should be fairly straightforward but I've been working all morning trying to figure this out. The fact that my libraries aren't even deleting properly (even after reboots) are pretty obvious that something is wrong.

Install Alaska Mod skin - and follow these instructions:

Note- you can also use TVDB Downloader as discussed in the article.

If you use TVDB Downloader, it will download them as banner.jpg. I think there's a way of forcing Alaska Mod to download banner as folder.jpg, but I forget how to do that.
