How do I know if Crystal chip is working - garyi - 2011-01-29

I suppose the obvious answer is HD films run.

I have stuck one in a 1.6 core duo. And ran a 720 film. It runs like, don't get me wrong but its pretty lumpy. Also I can find no mention of the crystalHD chip in any of the settings hence my question.

If "Allow hardware acceleration (CrystalHD)" doesn't appear in playback settings then something is wrong, please post a debug log, it'll tell why.

kextstat | grep crystalhd in terminal

Hi bobo, no that does not appear anywhere.

I'll try to do a debug!

- garyi - 2011-01-29

Here is a pastey bin. I might have got in wrong in that I tuned debug on without quiting and restarting it.

Interceptor I typed that in terminal and it just went to the prompt. No error though, just nothing.

It occurs to me I dragged over my XBMC folder from another mac. Could this be related?

- bobo1on1 - 2011-01-29

Code:
ERROR: Unable to load libcrystalhd.dylib, reason: dlopen(libcrystalhd.dylib, 1): image not found
Pretty sure that's the problem.

Would that be something I can deal with or no?

I was tempted to load 10.6.3 as I was under the assumption this was most stable, might that make a difference?

- bobo1on1 - 2011-01-29

You don't have the crystal hd library installed.

Sorry to sound dumb, but I was under the impression this was part of Dharma?

What do I need to do then?

There's an installed for it on the ATV1 while under OSX it's a user install. Please search the forums, there are several posts regarding installing CrystalHD for OSX.
