Hi all,

Anyone else notice with the fixed take7 atv2 build the mediaportal ffmpeg plugin seems to be broken?

It all works setting it up and enabling it however once exiting xbmc and reopening it xbmc crashes back to atv2 menu.

The only way I could fix this was to delete the userdata for the plugin through ssh and restart xbmc and leave it disabled for now.

Also music playback doesn’t work inside music folder, found a workaround though, select the song you want to listen to, start the playback (won’t play), exit right back to xbmc main menu press up and press pause play, the music will now play correct.

Hi Burtz,

Try downloading the deb package and using cydia's autoinstall folder to install xbmc for you, this is the way I preffer to do it, never failed so far.

The music issue is a known problem, which should be fixed in trunk code (fix will be there on next build).

For the mediaportal thing i need a crashlog (see first link in my signature for howto get one) and it would be great if someone other could confirm that crash...

Hi Memphiz,

Thanks for the speedy reply, ok have tried a few things since my last post, with the plugin enabled but live tv disabled the xbmc works fine, as soon as I enable live tv it crashes, please see bellow a link to the crash log, let me know if its the wrong file as there was a few to choose from.

Great to hear the music issue is known and a fix will be out soon.

With mediaportal ffmpeg plugin I cannot use it to watch live tv due to pixilation, cracking etc all I use it for is the pvr function for recording shows I want, any idea if anyone is working on mediaportal tsreader for atv2 live tv playback or is there a hardware acceleration option in the pvr builds? Cheers.

Ok thanks for the info but is that through nito tv or do I have to download it first? what is cydia autoinstall? I did a deb package search in Nito and take7 didn't show up.

Ok to do this you need the following software, I am assuming your using Windows so download and install WinSCP http://winscp.net/download/winscp434setup.exe

Then you’re going to need to download the fixed take7 deb file http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30371861/org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_10.0-9_iphoneos-arm_pvr_take7_fixed.deb just save it to your desktop.

Now open WinSCP and click new, in Host name type in your ATV2's IP Address (find this in the ATV2's network settings), the port should be 22, the username is root, the password is alpine and the protocol will be SFTP then click login, it will tell you about a certificate just click yes (only shown once), now a new window will open with your PC's files on the left and your ATV2's files on the right.

Now on the ATV2's files double click on Media then Cydia then AutoInstall, you should now be in an empty folder, on the PC's files you will be default looking at the my documents folder just above the files window there is a drop down menu click on is and select your desktop, search for the deb file you downloaded and drag it over to the ATV2's side, one the file is copied you can close WinSCP and go into nitoTV and reboot your ATV2 from in there.

It will reboot 2 times total and on the second time xbmc take7 will be installed for you, hope this helps.

Thanks Kevin

I got it all installed , have the xbmc plugin on tvserver, have setup live tv add on atv2, but it comes up with starting PVR client, says searching for channels and then just stops. I let it run all night but still had the same message. I will try and paste crash logs tonight.

Thats the same thing that is happening to me. Mediaportal addon. Margro probably needs to take a look at this since he is the author of the Mediaportal Addon

Ok, here is my log file, looks like it is the tvserver plugin that has the error...

I just checked your log file and my first guess is that the problem lies at the XBMC side and not at the addon/tv server side but it is difficult to tell without the logs from the tvserver -or- the console output from the debug version of the TVServerXBMC plugin (TVServerXBMC.exe).

The log indicated a succesful connection with the TVServerXBMC plugin (line 193) and the last communication from between XBMC and the addon is line 203 (or is that log file larger than 274 lines?).

The next communication is normally the fetch channel list part. Lines 228-232 indicate that the PVRManager tries to fetch the channels first from its internal database and normally, it should also ask the PVR addons.
See as an example my Windows log file from a working MediaPortal pvr addon.

I too was getting the same error as Burtz and mylle after installing take7 and using the MediaPortal plugin. It was hanging at searching for channels. After going through the logs, and some troubleshooting, I dont believe it has anything to do with the tvserver or the tvserver plugin, as it was working fine on other xbmc pvr installations in the house.
What I noticed in the logs was that the last log was looking for radio channels, and finding none. I had radio channels disabled in the plugin so I thought it was strange. I enabled radio channels (even though I have none), disabled/reenabled the plugin, disabled live tv, restarted xbmc, and reenabled live tv. All my TV channels populated, epg data populated, and everything began to work.
Live TV was pixalated and jittering when any on screen menus were present, but when I went full screen both audio and video were flawless. Only other issue was that selected another channel from the epg did not seem to change the channel for me. I will look further into it tonight.

- mylle - 2011-08-12

Indeed. Enabling radio channels in the addon makes it work again Smile

Thanks Smile

Still it pixellates and so on but i guess that wont stop until Margro gets the tsreader version ported to IOS.

Regards
Jacob

It Works! - Burtz - 2011-08-12

Yes, it now loads channels, displays the epg for me too. Unfortunately it won't play my DVB-T live streamSad

http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/664546/

and not only will it not play the stream it crashes back to frontrow within seconds every time I try and reload xbmc, log file:

Could we get a Take 8? dushmaniac did a - I would say - in between release.

- Memphiz - 2011-08-15

Nope not yet. The current state of the opdenkamp pvr tree has broken gestures on touch devices. So i can do a new build when he merges from master (where this is fixed) next time ...
