Take 10:

IOS

ATV2

PS: for feature requests use the pvr dev forum or the feature request forum ... as far as i tested - the program switching with the appletv2 remote works in take10 ...

Hi many many thanks to you!!
With the new build the vnsi client works again with my server!! Maybe you can add the xvdr plugin in newer versions too. (https://github.com/pipelka/xbmc-addon-xvdr)
You misunderstand me with the remote... I mean that the remote control should work like it do on my server! When I press up or down at the full screen live TV then I would go one channel up or down. And when I press left or right then I want to change the volume...

Thanks a lot to you.
Greets!!

nightfly2000,

Does xvdr work better in your experience?

Thanks..

- ssss25 - 2011-10-23

here are the stuff that don't work well..

I really have to go to setting live TV and clear epg to get epg to update. It doesnt do it automatically... and after It ddownloads it.. if i quit xbmc and come back the epg are gone.. I thought it should save epg in local database.

Switching channels while watching doesn't work. If I press channel up or down it just goes back to channel list.

Frequent crashes that goes back to atv menu..

Non the less I am grateful someone is compiling for ATV :-) its good enough ffor now.

Forgive me if I'm being stupid, but how do you enable a pvr addon on the iPad? Nothing happens when I click the enable button. Using the build just posted.

I read that the vnsi plugin is not updated any more. So pipelka develop the source code of the vnsi and just rename it to xvdr! So think in the future there will be no way out to use xvdr... My htpc distri already changed to xvdr...

Hi,

I just did some reading here:
https://www.lonelycoder.com/redmine/issues/555#change-2906

Does this mean that the ATV2 should be playing the HD streams fine?

you could test it and report back ... as of th reading i'm not sure if this only applys to the recording or to streaming aswell...

edit: gave it a quick shot ... nope hd streaming still without hardwaredecoding here in germany...

Thanks Memphiz,
I'm running the "package" build of tvheadend, hence the question.
I will most likely start building as there seems to be much changing/improving very quickly.

.....

Short, blurry video of my ForTheRecord (http://www.4therecord.eu/) pvrclient addon running on "Take 11" on the iPad: http://youtu.be/1IblyTI-_cM?hd=1.
  • showing how inexperienced I am at using iPads and making movies Laugh
  • showing the standard PVR stuff (EPG, Timers, Recording, Channels)
  • showing choppy playback of recordings

Video playback is identical choppy when using the 'standard' videoplayer from xbmc on the iPad. So it is either some WiFi bandwith issue or the Transport Stream / xbmc combo isn't optimal yet.

Cheers,
Fred

Great news, thanks Red_F!!

I can't wait to try your pvrclient in atv2.
Is it compatible with this device yet?

Thank you very much.

This weekend an ATV2 will arrive on the workbench here. The addon *should* work, but as usual seeing is believing Wink. Any progress is reported mainly here: http://www.4therecord.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1600.

Cheers,
Fred

I'm counting the hours Laugh
I've been waiting several months for a good ATV2 pvrclient which works fine with a Windows backend.

Thanks again.
