Once you edit your userdata file you don't have to do the login information anymore.

It's basically your personal subscriber ID number. It authenticates who you are to the ESPN servers to validate which content you are allowed to receive. If you give this number to other people to use at different locations, I'm assuming you'll either get banned or they will only allow you to login from 1 location at a time. I'm not sure because I've never done that.

Does anyone know why ESPN doesn't stream their content in 720p? There's no reason they couldn't. The clips you can watch on espn.com articles appear to be in 720p. You would probably need a 4-5 mbps connection to do this, but that's no different than Hulu Plus or Netflix HD.

The highest quality setting is not far from 720 really, my 3Mb connection can't handle it though Sad

their highest stream is registered at ~576 (or something like that).
so, that would be a question for ESPN.

I agree, 720p streams would have been awesome. I still find the quality (even on the highest) rather poor. Doubt it'll happen though.

Odd problem. HTPC is setup over wireless with Comcast. The streams load but they take a few minutes to load. My desktop which is sitting right next to the HTPC that I installed Eden on loads the stream nearly instantly also over wireless. Would the lower spec HTPC cause the stream to take so long to load?

Anyway to get a espnnetworks plugging for all the espn channels instead of just 3? I am a subscriber so I could use all my real login info.

- fyvve - 2012-01-04

I have no idea if this was figured out earlier i didnt want to wade through all 84 pages. I have an appleTV first gen and when i installed the espn3 plug in it wouldnt work. Turns out it didn't have and needed write access to the plugin-video-espn3 directory. I just used chmod on the directory and tried again, working perfectly. SO AWESOME, ive been wanting this forever.

Look like Comcast will be able to watch ESPN

look at the configuration of the app.

if you have access, you should be able to access all online content:
ESPN3
ESPNU
ESPN2
GoalLine

anything beyond that... not sure what "channels" you're talking about.
