RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - fanatix - 2012-08-22

At one time I had it working with Comcast on all channels (ESPN, ESPN2, etc.) Now it just shows ESPN3 and I haven't been successful getting the other channels to work again.

I am receiving an error: There was an error loading the event. Error Code: 316. I am very new to this as I just jailbroke my AppleTV 2nd Gen yesterday. But everything else is working fine. Unable to stream ESPN3. Please help.

HAHA!! True.. but it worked for me.

you're getting a pretty old error
Code:
IndexError: list index out of range

which usually means that some paramater was not passed through.

There is an abbreviated code for comcast. i believe it's just 'com'.
but really you should be using the information that you get from this link -- http://broadband.espn.go.com/espn3/auth/userData?format=xml
in your userdata.xml

and, if you are on TWC, why are you using Comcast? are they the same where you are?
in my experience, if you are using Comcast, you should not have to enable login/ password.

@Astro2004 - i don't mean any harm... but you might want to learn how to read a debug log, before you offer advice. Undecided

No offence taken. And no harm meant from ME, but maybe you need to learn to read everyday english. I offered no advice. I asked questions to see if his issue was the same as the one I had with this add-on. Had it been, I would have then OFFERED advice based on how I got it to work!

again, NO HARM MEANT..

I added some basic help to the first post in this thread, if there is anything else that helps for certain providers let me know and I will add it to the first post.

Check out this post. Let us know if there are further issues.

RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - bittersmile - 2012-08-28

really tired. tried all most everything but won't get it work for my atv2.
Place the default.py file (swid and affiliate edited), update the librtmp.0.dylib file, update the userdata.xml file, changed the configuration setting.

I use comcast. The problem is I can see all the listing (live, replay, everything). I can also open them, but each one only play like 2 second and then quit. Please help.

RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - facted - 2012-08-28

I don't have it working myself, so can't really help. I do know though that the only thing you should expect to work with Comcast is espn3. ESPN, ESPN2, etc.. will NOT work.

Facted: if that is true for Comcast subscribers, then why can I view all streams from all channels in my browser?

In the browser you can watch everything. In this plugin you can only watch ESPN3 content

Yes. For me ESPN3 used to work fine about 6 months ago. I don't know since when it stopped working and all the video in this plugin just play 1 sec. I updated the ios on itv2 several days ago and still have the same problem.

Install BlueCop Repository using these instructions:
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW-TO:Install_an_add-on_from_a_zip_file_on_ATV2
http://code.google.com/p/bluecop-xbmc-repo/downloads/list

Under the Settings-Add On menu in XBMC, use the Configure option under the ESPN plugin. Verify/set these options:
Play in XBMC = On
User Custom User Files = On
Enable Login = On
Use your ESPN3 username and password.
Cable Provider = Time Warner

Update librtmp file using these instructions:
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Librtmp

Follow the instructions in post #1299 here:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=95053&pid=1151724#pid1151724

Make sure to also refer to posts #571 & #574 since it isn't clear how the userdata.xml needs to be formatted. I'm not sure if the cookies.lwp file is needed, but I put it out there anyway. In my case, both of these files had to be created from scratch.
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=95053&page=58

This is the part that was unclear to me. You need to replace your default.py file AND edit it to include your SWID and affiliate for your particular cable provider (captured in a previous step). The SWID has to be changed in two places. See post #1255:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=95053&pid=1130994&highlight=default.py#pid1130994

Exit XBMC back to ATV2 main page. Restart XBMC. Start ESPN Video Add In. Enjoy!

Many thanks to XBMC debs, Davilla, FireCore, BlueCop, rudawgr, dfa82, Ned Scott, and anyone else I may have forgotten.

I have Time Warner Cable with ESPN and all the ESPN content plays through my web browser on my computer. I followed the steps above on my ATV 2 and was left with the 'X Error Script Failed!: plugin.video.espn3' in the lower right corner.

Could someone who has it working on Time Warner Cable please paste the contents of the userdata.xml, cookies.lwp, and default.py. without their swid, on here or pastebin, so I can see how it is suppose to look?

Were you able to find your SWID from http://broadband.espn.go.com/espn3/auth/userData?

If so, then have you created a userdata.xml file in ./XBMC/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.espn3 folder with the info you gathered from http://broadband.espn.go.com/espn3/auth/userData?

If you accomplished that, then let us know. When I get home from work tonight i can tell you what my addon settings are, and we can work on getting ESPN3 to stream correctly...

Wildbill: In the interest of Comcast subscribers, would a full debug log from a Comcast subscriber help to troubleshoot the other feeds (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU)?
