If you haven't done so yet. Update the Lib files in Post #1364. It will be essential so this can flow right.

The 1st thing we will do is go into NitoTV and install Erica Utilities.

Next go to Apple TV home screen. Navigate to
Settings / General / Network
Now write down your original DNS Address. put it away 4 safe keeping

And replace it with this server 199.167.030.144

To check and see that this is working properly. Download this plugin BBC iPlayer.

Install from zip in XBMC. As we all know you can't watch this in USA. Now you can. If this starts your address is anonymous. You've done everything right.


IMPORTANT: if you are an official ESPN customer meaning you can sign in and everything and watch regular ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN 2 etc. you just install info above and don't change anything else

If you are stuck like most people with a unofficial account. Then launch add-on settings go to login. select get new files. No sign in required. you will get replays and ESPN3 events ONLY for now. I need feedback to continue with any changes.



Now launch XBMC ESPN and test it out. There won't be much content until weekend. Still keep me informed. I'll have more files in reserve if you run in2 trouble.

If you are not satisfied with this fix. Simply put your old DNS address back in and all will go back to normal.

Also if you are not in USA still test this. I might be able to direct you in correct direction if something is wrong.

Only tested so far on ATV. But you can use that DNS. It will work for any system though.

Also the blackout issue should be solved now. Since no 1 can determine where you are streaming from.

is this the same as unblockus? - cause thats what I use from canada but still get the blackouts cause its an east coast ISP

the IP/DNS you provided says its from florida

Erica Utilities are command line prompts - could you explain why they are part of the process and how they help if your not running them - im just curious?

i doubt it works with comcast - I have a comcast login and could never get it to work its something to do with the swid rather than the location

i wonder if someone could PM me their time warner or other provider swid so I can test it out here in canada with unblockus or a VPN to see if possible

also it works prefect with your ipad and you can mirror it through if you really want too

Thanks bud. You will not need to log in to watch ESPN 3. Leave User Name, Password blank. Disable login. Only select "Get New User Files" There must be a unknown problem with Comcast. That needs to be explored.




Note: everybody will get ESPN 3 and replays. Plus you won't get Black Out Message.

More work has to be done to get the other channels working. Let's take it 1step at a time. It has worked before we will find a way for it to work again.

Unable to get this to work on ATV2 after many hours of trying. I have twc service and am able to watch on espn3.com with no worries on my pc. I have attached my log for analysis. I am just getting "ERROR" when i try to play a stream. sometimes ill get the script failed error in the bottom right, but a majority of the time its just an ERROR.

one question: is the username/password for your carrier (ie twc), or for espn3.com, as I have 2 seperate logins.


Before everyone gets all crazy telling me to try the forums, i have done the following:
1) librtmp0 replacement
2) userinfo.xml editing
3) cookies.lwp editing
4) both twc and espn3.com logins

I have tried all combinations of those 4 scenarios. Any help would be appreciated.

it does seem to possibly be a credential issue. as you are trying to watch SportCenter.

when I was with TWC, i believe it should be your TWC login / password credentials. if you notice, when you are on the website, and you "login" it will send you to your TWC page to access the WatchEPSN content.
I'm also going to assume that you have successfully watched SportCenter through your website....?

Can you watch ESPN 3 specific content?

I am able to watch sportscenter on the browser using my logins.

I am not able to watch espn, eapn3, espn2 through the plugin.

Any other suggestions?

i'm at a bit of a loss.
I would suggest:
- deleting your cookies.lwp file.
- try to make sure your userdata.xml matches up with the information provided on this webpage - http://broadband.espn.go.com/espn3/auth/userData?format=xml
i noticed you called it userinfo.xml -- not sure if that was a mistake, or you really renamed the file that...
- delete the videocache.xml file

- turn off login option under configure option of the add-on
- and enable custom settings option.

then post a full debug log -- not just a snippet -- on pastebin.com -- it's FREE!!! and it keeps the forum less cluttered.

I did the following:
- Created a new ESPN account and added my TWC info to it.
- Deleted my cookies.lwp file
- Made sure my userdata.xml matched up with the url given
- deleted the videocache.xml file
- turned off login option
- enabled "Use custom user files" option

Opened addon
- disabled "Use custom user files option"
- browsed to game i wanted to watch

It played. Yes. Some games are giving me a blackout error, but that seems normal based on previous posts. I am also randomly getting a SMI URL error or something. Im just happy it worked.

Thanks alot for everyone's help. Maybe this will encourage people to keep working at it, it does finally work.

As a note, I also replaced my librtmp0 file with the latest before I began troubleshooting.
