Initially I found the plugin via: http://www.insanehtpc.com/2012/05/16/how-to-install-espn-add-on-for-xbmc ? Comments at the end point to this thread even though it's not listed as "ESPN3.com" (rather ESPN) in the addons list.

I see a lot of people having partial success who are comcast subscribers. My ISP isn't one of the ones listed when trying to view on the web at espn.go.com, so it fails (comcast is listed as one of the valid ISPs).

The above website instructions seem to not have you setting your provider, back when it was working, was it working for all ISPs? Or only the ones where you are already able to view via the web?

My logs. http://code.google.com/p/bluecop-xbmc-repo/issues/detail?id=192

The add-on doesn't do any magic other than simulating what your browser does. So if you can't watch it on the web then you can't watch it using this add-on. Also with comcast only espn3 works.

Thanks. I figured this was the case but hope springs eternal. Appreciate the confirmation.

If my research has been done correctly. It looks like we are being redirected to another site by ESPN. The Internet is picking up Apple TV as a mobile device and not a computer. So the only people who can sign in would be Verizon FiOS users. And there are very few of them. The add-on has to be rewritten for the new sign- in option to be used correctly.

I am one of the many who can use all of the channels in a browser, can see the channels and shows listed in xbmc, but get "ERROR" on play. I use Cox cable. Hope to see this fixed eventually.

Right now, my workaround is to launch a browser window from within XBMC using a batch file:
start iexplore -k http://espn.go.com/watchespn/player/_/channel/espn1/size/condensed/

Works great!

RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - uncertainty - 2013-01-06

BTW I love how this addon allows me to choose the highest quality feed for the sporting events. Does anyone know how I could do the same when just using the internet browser for espn3?

At work I sometimes during my break will watch some ESPN3 and just wondered if I could force the higher-bandwidth feed via the browser...

thanks

Is there any way this can be updated to include Optimum Online? Optimum has watchespn access and now works with the iPad.

Hey. First, fantastic work. This plugin has awesome potential.

I'm a Comcast user, and cannot get the plugin to log into my account.

Anyone know of a fix?

RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - flammenwurfer - 2013-01-07

Does anybody have this working on a Raspberry Pi? I initially couldn't get into the plugin, but followed the steps in the OP to get into it and see the streams. However, I still can't actually play anything. It just throws an error.

I'm running Openelec on my Rpi and I haven't updated my librtmp. Any help would be much appreciated.

In case anybody else comes here trying to get it working on their Raspberry Pi. The ESPN add-on is working for me by using the settings found here http://www.insanehtpc.com/2012/05/16/how-to-install-espn-add-on-for-xbmc/

I don't see a download for this addon on the thread? I also checked the addon list in frodo and I don't see it there either.. Am I missing something?

RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - bradwatson - 2013-01-25

I followed all the instructions listed in bluecops post and another post containing even more instructions related to taking my Time Warner Cable SWID and placing in default.py as well as cookies file. I was able to get a stream working once, but ever since then it has failed. When the stream worked, it was the only item listed under live ESPN3 content. After that there were multiple items I could choose from, and it quit working. The error in my log file is a list index out of range. As a java programmer this tells me there is something wrong with the array construction. This kind of makes since as to why it worked when there was only one playable option in the ESPN3 list. I'm not a python scripter so I'm not sure what would need to be fixed, but it looks like index 0 in the string array. Below is a snippet from the log. Anyone have any clues?

It's located in BlueCop's repository.

Any news here? Still trying to get paid channels to work from Cox. Works fine in a browser. ESPN3 works with "get new user files" and login off. Login on gives:
Code:
