- jadoogar - 2011-04-24 @nelander - can you point me to the instructions on how to install nightly 04/17 on iPad 1 ( 4.3.1 )? - pip3dream - 2011-04-24 jadoogar, to install on ipad: 1. Jailbreak ipad, install openssh 2. download the nightly build from the link at the start of this thread 3. copy the "latest_ios.deb" file to ipad via scp/sftp 4. ssh to ipad and install with dpkg -i <filename> 5. I found that i needed to restart my ipad; otherwise xbmc was crashing (this might be unique to me tho) this link might help BTW ALL - I'm running the build from 17/4 on ipad 1 4.3.2. This is working really well. I've noticed that HD (720 & 1080) x.264 content plays flawlessly, over wifi to smb share, and rar'd content is fine. And, i can stream live TV from my xbmc box in the theatre room, which is running tvheadend - so i now have live TV channels on ipad which is just way cool! Non-x.264 HD content stutters. Someone smarter than me here might be able to explain if this is a hardware limitation, or something we might see improved in future releases? Thanks all, xbmc continues to push the boundaries of what's possible with media consumption! - yxz11 - 2011-04-24 I'm running the 4/17 build. It seems rtmp still has problem: http://pastebin.com/AZuLzQk9 Per the message here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=776538&postcount=29 It seems updating librtmp to the latest solved the issue. I'm wondering if the new build can include this fix. Thanks - thefastest - 2011-04-24 pip3dream Wrote:Non-x.264 HD content stutters. Someone smarter than me here might be able to explain if this is a hardware limitation, or something we might see improved in future releases? I believe Keith said that only the hardware decoding on the Apple TV 2 only supports h.264 content; all other formats use software decoding, which is much slower. For standard def content, you won't notice a difference, but the a4 is not powerful enough to decode HD video in software, causing other formats to be unusable. XBMS Server/ Client - locomot1f - 2011-04-24 I just noticed in the latest build, that the XBMS Client aspect is missing from the sources. I use XMBS to stream my files to my ATV. I'm hoping that this is an oversight, and will be put back in on the next build. I don't find it easy to use SMB over the OS X. I don't have an error log. The option to use XBMS is simply just not there... - bond007taz - 2011-04-25 so I updated to the 4/17 build and tried out playing a couple normal ISO's and they played fine and then I played a 1080 MKV file and it played fine (via wired network) wow... nice work everyone!!! XBMC rox my ATV2 - lee2381 - 2011-04-26 I registered just so I could say THANK YOU!!! for the amazing work you've done on the nightly 04/17 build. I honestly didn't think 1080p playback the ATV2 would ever be this good. I'm running a wired set up and even high bitrates are playing back with hardly a hitch. DTS audio also working flawlessly. Awesome Job everybody!!! - DarkVamp - 2011-04-27 yxz11 Wrote:I'm running the 4/17 build. It seems rtmp still has problem: You got rtmp Streaming working - yxz11 - 2011-04-27 DarkVamp Wrote:You got rtmp Streaming working This is what I did. On my windows machine with XBMC 10.1, none of Nickjr and The Daily Show worked for me, which was the same situation as ATV2. I downloaded RTMPDUMP from the link in http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=776538&postcount=29 and replaced librtmp.dll with the downloaded one. And Both Nickjr and The Daily Shows are working now. Just checked a minute ago and they are still working. That's why I think incorporating the new librtmp will solve the issue on ATV2. - eTVnet - 2011-04-27 Keith, do you know if someone looking into to add MMS:// streaming support for ATV2? I'm not an expert in this but maybe I could still help somehow ? - DarkVamp - 2011-04-28 eTVnet Wrote:Keith, do you know if someone looking into to add MMS:// streaming support for ATV2? But lets wait and time will come Hi MMS seems to be working fine in the latest build (17.04). I use it with NRK add-on. It's the first build it actually work fine on aTV2. ,Dolfren - eTVnet - 2011-04-28 Dolledd Wrote:Hi Thanks, Dolfren you are right it works now. The only thing is when you do FF or REW it freezes the frame and XBMC crashes.. it works fine on ATV1 - billythehamster - 2011-04-29 I had an issue after upgrading from the nightly released on the 1st April. Still had crashes so I did a factory reset. All works a treat now. - eTVnet - 2011-04-29 billythehamster Wrote:I had an issue after upgrading from the nightly released on the 1st April.
