The texture issue is only with the latest, April version is fine. I'll put the official release on after deinstalling.

- iLLNESS - 2011-07-25

after a recent upgrade to a nightly, i noticed alot of my favorite video plugins are now missing (most notably revision3).

is this a known issue? i can't seem to find anyone else mentioning it.

I've tried completely removing xbmc, reinstalling official build and then to this build and still missing the plugins.

thanks.

seems silly though as revision3 was an addon that atleast for me, worked perfectly :o

The person who maintains that add-on just needs to mark his add-on off as working and it would be listed with the nightlies again. It's possible they've gone MIA or are just really busy. *shrug*

xvid playback - Addz - 2011-07-25

Just wondering if anyone else is having issues playing xvid mkv rips

It seems to stutter during playback I am using the latest nightly.

Hardware decoding is only for h264 so if they're HD xvids you would get stuttering.
Might need to post some more info on your rips

this is a part of the log that indicates that the video cannot be played:

What can be the problem, missing codec?

Can anyone confirm, is this a bug or is the XBMC on AppleTV not capable of playing this kind of files, if the latetst then i can stop trying Smile?

Also installed the latetst nightly but no change.

I searched the forum for you

Looks like the container support isn't that great and quite likely not an atv2 problem

Thanks for searching, but the last reaction is from 2009, that is 2 years ago.
To what can i convert this video but still keep the highest possible quality

Should be able to convert to mkv with no quality change (no change to your audio and video streams at all), I'd imagine you can just demux and mux into mkv container.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong :-)

I have this problem but the other way around. Will just wait and keep installing the nightly builds.

i just saw this:

my avi's are mostly xvid. mkv's with x264 are always playing fine.
so there is no good way for decoding of xvid?

It's only an issue if they are in HD, and some might even play then. If you have HD xvid avi's that are not playing well then I would go and find better copies of them that are in h.264. Better quality per byte, plus it should work without issue. I don't know why people still insist on making HD avi's with xvid. It's a hacked together media container with an outdated codec, and when HD rips were gaining popularity (due to HD sources being available) h.264 was already here.

When playing MP3 files from my UPNP server, it crashes back to frontrow. Sometimes it happens after 30 minutes, sometimes after 10 minutes... it´s really random. I´ve tried several UPNP servers, it happens with all of them. I think it has something to do with the MP3 decoder. I am running the latest nightly

It really doesn´t matter which mp3 file i play. When i get back to XBMC and play the same MP3 file, it works... After 30/60/90 minutes it crashes back to frontrow on another MP3 file...
