RE: [RELEASE] Canada On Demand (Successor to CTV Properties) - looi - 2012-06-28

I made another fork that fixes Bravo and CBC. Dates have been added to many videos. Marius's CTV fixes have also been incorporated, with CTV atlantic/kitchener.

Download at https://github.com/looi/plugin.video.canada.on.demand

Currently the Bravo plugin is quite slow as it has to fetch many pages. I'm not sure if there is a better way without displaying shows with no videos. The list of shows seems to change quite often so hard-coding would probably be a bad idea.

The future of this plugin is probably doomed however, as many stations are now encrypting their streams (e.g. CityTV). Decryption is a violation of the DMCA in the US, and probably Canada soon once bill C-11 is passed (it has already passed the house of commons, awaiting senate approval).

I've updated the plugin, multiple parts for a single broadcast should show up in a sub-folder now.

I made some fixes do that the "CTV News' and 'CTV Local News' stations work now. You can get the updated plugin from my fork on github: https://github.com/marius-muja/plugin.video.canada.on.demand

Hey mariusmuja,

Thanks for fixing and updating this! Greatly appreciated!! Now that I'm got the CTV Northern Ontario news I can go ahead and "cut the cable" as they say.

Goodbye Bell! Goodbye bills! Cool

Cheers.

Please forgive me for the newb question, but how do I go about making the fixes to restore CTV News?

Which file do I select from the github website, and how do I install it in XBMC? (I have only installed addons from a zip file)

RE: [RELEASE] Canada On Demand (Successor to CTV Properties) - vijayk416 - 2012-07-06

Download the files by clicking on the Zip icon, then update the add-on by refreshing from the zip file.

Thanks for the updates, Looi. CBC was a collosal mess before this!

Im not quite sure how the updating works, but i notice there is fixes coming out, is there anyway the original plugin could just update to fix these issues? Or does the original author need to do that.

I only ask because unless i am on my toes scanning the forum, im finding fixes and new versions i would normally never find.

RE: [RELEASE] Canada On Demand (Successor to CTV Properties) - vijayk416 - 2012-07-07

The original author is no longer maintaining this add-on. Looi has provided a link above to his most recent version of the add-on. You can use it to update if you want.

Can someone post a zip for the plugin? I have no idea what to do with all the files on Looi's link.

RE: [RELEASE] Canada On Demand (Successor to CTV Properties) - Icarus3000 - 2012-07-24

HGTV.ca changed their whole site around. This seems to have broken the access to videos from this plugin. Is this fixable? HGTV.ca is my wife's go-to channel, and if it doesn't work on XBMC I may need to subscribe to cable Eek

RE: [RELEASE] Canada On Demand (Successor to CTV Properties) - looi - 2012-07-24

HGTV.ca has been fixed in my version: https://github.com/looi/plugin.video.canada.on.demand

ok why are there two versions of the plugin and which one should I trust yours or marius-muja? Cool

RE: [RELEASE] Canada On Demand (Successor to CTV Properties) - dezzy04 - 2012-07-25

I downloaded looi's zip and installed it but it still says andre is the author. I tried uninstalling it and installing looi's. But still the same.
