Hi,

macf1an Wrote:Can't you just set the single press of "Menu" button to step back to the site selection screen?

I will have a look to this, thanks for the comment.

macf1an Wrote:Btw since 2.0.2 pressing "select" to choose a picture set results in one additional "circling" animation just to show the same picture again

Hm? This behavior should be there from the beginning. The album-preview-photo is identical with the first picture of the album itself. This is how the websites are doing it.
I am guessing you are noticing this behavior since this version because of the caching which makes it much faster to enter an album *g*.

sphere Wrote:Hi,

This addon uses the xbmc internal picture caching. This means that (except you use the addon to download the pictures with the context-key) the addon doesn't have a picture folder which can be cleaned. How to purge your global xbmc picture cache if needed, please have a look to the xbmc wiki.

But indeed the addon uses 1 hour cache of the html pages. If you want to clear this cache please have a look to the folder ".../addon_data/script.image.bigpictures/cache/". Btw. in 4 months of usage this folder contains 3MB of data.

sphere

Many thanks for the info about the "cache".

Hi,

I have created a new version.

Changelog:
Added: New Scraper "TotallyCoolPix.com"
Changed: Using 'keep' as default aspect-ratio (press 0 or set in settings to change)
Fixed: html codes in title from some "Atlantic in focus" albums
Changed: The spinning loading animation logic

I would be happy if you could test this version before I request a pull to the official repo.
You can download the dharma and eden-pre version here:
Dharma: https://github.com/downloads/dersphere/script.image.bigpictures/script.image.bigpictures-1.5.3.zip
Eden-pre: https://github.com/downloads/dersphere/script.image.bigpictures/script.image.bigpictures-2.0.3.zip

Still on the todo list:
- Fix back with ATV2-Remote
- Slideshow Mode

regards,
sphere

works great so far..
Can you shorten somehow the animation when entering an album? The first image is displayed anyway so maybe just to start preloading the next one when a "Select" action is caught..
I was hoping you'll map the aspect change to a button accessible from the remote - like "Holding select" or "Play/pause"

Hi,

first, thanks for your feedback and comments.

macf1an Wrote:Can you shorten somehow the animation when entering an album? The first image is displayed anyway so maybe just to start preloading the next one when a "Select" action is caught..

Hm? Which animation? If you mean the delay in showing the description-text: Yes, if you want this, I hope I can make this delay configurable in the settings.

macf1an Wrote:I was hoping you'll map the aspect change to a button accessible from the remote - like "Holding select" or "Play/pause"
The aspect_ratio is also configurable in the settings. The "play/pause" button will be used for slideshow feature. And, if i remember correct the "hold select" is download pictures - not free much buttons on ATV2 *g*

sphere

by animation I mean the "loading" circle..
Downloading is with "Holding Menu". "Single Menu" I hope will be "Back to site selection menu". "Single Select" is Show/Hide text. "Holding Select" is free Smile

procrastinator Wrote:The there is no 'back' function in the big picture addon on ATV2. Pressing the 'Menu' button on the remote (which normally serves this function in the GUI on ATV2) closes the addon.

macf1an Wrote:Being a frequent user I can also confirm that having to close and reopen the addon everytime you enter a picture set is a nuisance.
Can't you just set the single press of the "Menu" button to step back to the site selection screen?

Hi,

I need help from an ATV2 remote user. I created a small xbmc addon which only shows the action_id of keypresses to the gui.
Please install it via: https://github.com/downloads/dersphere/script.get_action_id/script.get_action_id-0.0.1.zip and give me the action_IDs of all possible ATV2 remote keypresses.

Please send ma a short list like this:
Code:
Left -> 1
Right -> 2
Menu -> 122
...
Then I will do what I can to make The Big Pictures more usable with ATV2 remotes.

Btw. when this is done I will release a new version with two new scrapers (TotallyCoolPix.com and Time.com) - and as a bonus with slideshow Smile

sphere

Hi,

Im sure these arent the ids i need. Can you please try with my small Script?
i Need the translated action IDS - not the keymap ids.
Thanks,

Up ? (Maybe you should have randomized the exit key)
Left 1
Right 2
Down 4
Select 7
Menu 10
Play 79
Long Select 18
Long Menu 117

This is a great addon, but I am experiencing some strange behavior in the last few days. The initial loading of Big Picture gallery is usually fine, but when I want to go into a particular set of pictures, I see only the turning wheel for 5 minutes and than the only way how to get out of the addon is to reset the appletv (the "Menu" button does not work as the usual exit option).

Does anyone else experience similar issues?

Thx.

Hi,

thanks for reporting.

boston.com has changed something on the website layout. I will upload a fixed version to the repo in the next days.

I still have problems with the slideshow feature and therefore it wont be included in the update Sad
