PS3 bluetooth remote on atv2 - johnnydowngrief - 2011-03-25

Sorry for double posting in case this issue was already discussed here on the forum but I'd like to know if this device http://www.alza.cz/dalkovy-ovladac-ps3-d72650.htm can be made to work with apple tv2 /xbmc. I saw you guys using xbmc on atv with bluetooth keyboard, so i guess the principle should be the same. Has anyone tried this setup? Thx for your answer and recommendations. I just want to be sure before I buy the damned thing Rolleyes Thx again.

There's a possibility?

Second this request. The supplied remote is tiny and keeps falling in between cushions!

Why don't you try pairing the PS3 BD remote with the ATV2 and see if you can create a useful keymap for it...

Or you could just use an old spare remote like a DVD player etc and use frontrow to learn the new remote, takes all of 2 minutes to do.

I paired it in atv2 custom settings' BT Stack.
But the question remains, now what. This doesnt leave a working ps3 bd remote in XBMC.

Any further steps?

Talk to Matthias Ringwald, he's the one behind BTstack.

There's a few logs you can check to see if the events are being recognized by BTstack:
/tmp/hci_dump.pklg (open with wireshark)
/var/log/BTstack.*
/var/log/keyboardd.*
/var/log/syslog

Good luck
