Use USB Image tool to restore it in Windows or dd across each partition. Remember to include your own EFI bootloader from a firmware file and copy it to sdx1

To be honest I am not finding much as of yet, will keep looking though.
WiFi dongles that support ndiswrapper will work fine. Personally though I'd recommend a wired connection. To verify if all your different remotes will work, boot off USB and try it out.

got the image installed no problem and the remote I was using works....now its the sound that is giving me fits. I am running the atv via hdmi any thoughts? gonna take a step back and look at it later on today, any pointers would be appreicated I always seem to have issues with sound when it comes to linux builds.

A very common oversight, but that guide has many 'post install' tweaks which will ensure smoother operation.

Any hints on 720 playback?
Most of my stuff plays OK but its pretty lumpy, fast moving scenes or pan scenes show up pretty clearly how lumpy it all is.

Hmm ... do you have the Crystal HD card? I mainly play 720p stuff and it is almost flawless. There are only three small issues. It takes smb a bit too long to communicate with my server, and the first second or two is jerky. After that, it's perfect. The other issues seems to be a small memory leak, but that may be because of the skin I am using or some addon or booting from an external SSD.

Which is why I asked if you followed the post-install steps.
