Machine-Sanctum Wrote:Running nightly from aug 23. So far no real problems. Although the problem of shutting down XBMC still remains. It just hangs or take a ver very long time (sometime up to 10 min or so).
I believe this is due to the auto syncing not honoring the request to shutdown and continuing to operate regardless, but I also have evidence that other parts are not honoring the quit request, this has become issue #91 on github.

Machine-Sanctum Wrote:Does TU still require the official Trakt add-on? I also posted my problem there and they said it i didn't need it if i'm using TU.

Haven't tried deinstalling yet. I did disable their auto submit (one week ago i think).
This is true, and I may have already seen that message, since v0.6.0 TU does the scrobbling for you (if you enable it in TU's settings) we had classed this as experimental but it seems to be working fine. So you no longer need the official trakt add-on.

Machine-Sanctum Wrote:The other things is that sometimes i get the message autoexec.py failed and if i can remember correctly it doesn't update my watching/watched status automaticly anymore since 2 or 3 days.
If you can get a debug log that show this (note: it might be in the one below that I'm about to get to) then I'll check if this is a new error, but we have recently fixed an error or two in this part.

Machine-Sanctum Wrote:Could you make an option to hide the message pop-ups (sync and update etc..)?
This is already planned, see #83. No guarantees but it might make v0.7.0.

Machine-Sanctum Wrote:EDIT:
Here the debug log. It definitly hangs when i enable trakt auto submit (as you can see from the log)

Tried to disable the official trakt but after restart xbmc totally crashes. To enable trakt again you have to act very fast before it crashes again. Maybe make a safty option (if trakt it still needed) to first chech if it's installed/enable or else terminate TU and display message to install trakt.
There shouldn't be any need for the official trakt to be in the system for TU to run, I haven't had the official trakt on mine for quite a while, it should run just fine without it. I'm going to deal with the shutdown problems as I've already mentioned. It appears in that log that the official trakt is still enabled, if it is possible and not too much trouble a log file showing what happens when you try to start xbmc after removing the official trakt would be helpful.

When playing the short Pixar films i keep getting the message "too short... trailer?"
Will this be also in planning to be optional disabled or some work-around?

Will try that. Keep you posted

EDIT:
completely removed trakt and now no start-up problems

rflores2323 Wrote:ok for some reason trakt utilities does not popup the rating system at the end of a show or movie. See log below. It now does startup however there is a notificatoin sating cannot connect to server.

see log here http://paste2.org/p/1594279

Mac OS X (11.0.0 AppleTV2,1). Built on Jun 23 2011 (Git:20110623-62171b3)

westcoastbias Wrote:Ditto on this. Same error. Same build.

Ok, based on your log rflores I see this error message:
Trakt Utilities: [Notification Service] Telnet too soon? (61) Connection refused

All the way through your log, this is a problem with the way TU gets messages from XBMC, TU is unable to connect to the notification server that XBMC runs. Unfortunately this is a tricky issue to properly diagnose the origin of, one thing that either of you could try would be to use any telnet client to connect to the server, the address should be 'localhost' (127.0.0.1) and the port number is 9090. There is an outside chance that a rouge firewall is blocking this but that would be very unusual behavior for a firewall.

That message actually originates from the trakt server, the site is telling us that the item is too short. If you could contact them about maybe working on some work around that would be appreciated as I have quite a backlog of TU specific issues to deal with.

markswift Wrote:I am also experiencing the shutdown hang issue :-(

I made an issue on the tracker: https://github.com/Manromen/script.TraktUtilities/issues/89

Probably this is already reported and needs deleting?
Thanks for reporting, I'm on it.

markswift Wrote:One thing that I'd really like to see is a way to fire off the sync / clean etc part of the script every x minutes (Or even better, on library update), I have Sickbeard and Couchpotato adding to my library and hence XBMC very rarely gets shut down... This would be a great help***
Put it on github as an issue and we will consider it.

Will do that. Didn't know it whas from trakt site itself.

about the start-up problems in previous post.
Uninstalled official trakt and now no start-up problems so far.

Is anybody here using TU on linux, if so could you please check that thing are working with v0.6.0 and builds Aug 17 or later. Specifically we are hunting for this error:
TypeError: JSONObject() takes at least 6 arguments (5 given)

Thanks in advance.

ok I pulled up putty and changed it to connection type "telnet" and then inputted the below trying the IP address.

IP (port 9090)
localhost
127.0.0.1
192.168.1.7

each time the program closed refusing connection.

Ok, head over to the json-rpc thread, http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=68263&page=116, and hopefully they can help you figure out what is wrong.

that seems to be way over my head on what they are talking about etc..

- Martijn - 2011-08-26

So far the latest git version is working without problems. However is seems that the watching/watched status doen't get updated when viewing.

- markswift - 2011-08-26

I'm still seeing lockups on exit... have updated the old issue and posted a log.

P.S. Watching / Watched seems to be working for me though.

rflores2323 Wrote:that seems to be way over my head on what they are talking about etc..

Yeah, I have seen some very specific things being discussed there but I believe it is the correct place to ask given that we know what part of xbmc isn't working. If your still not comfortable with asking there then I can at least start it on your behalf, though this will probably slow things down a bit.

Note this should now be fixed much better than before, though I might have missed some specific case where it still hangs.

This could be the same thing as rflores is having trouble with, could you please check if yours seems the same as what is described here.
