Poor mans DLNA for win XP SP3 + ?WDTV & xbmc - atgw - 2011-04-09

Hi All
Im here because I have seen a mac PC user with xbmc loaaded (futantastic software) + apple tv + iphone + 1 Tb HDD (mac format) showing in great clarity & quality all his pics, vids & music..I want to do the same but I all have is a XP SP3 desktop, non LAN HD TV & a Sky (in use) & Belkin wireless router. BTW Belkin recommend their 200 mbs & better 1000 mains wired LAN to whizz data about the house & Im told a win system HDD must be formatted to FAT32.
My main tv has just scart & rca Red White Yellow & CoAx Ae inputs.
A quick look at my post (mojo) on http://www.v3.co.uk forums Digital Home will detail my web search for kit that with Win XP will make DLNA happen.
I note there is a new remote for xbmc due in June 2011.
Any advice will be most helpful.
