A little drastic, isn't it? I'm running kernel 3.0 here myself and the 11.6 catalyst without any problems. If you're having problems I'd suggest reading over the topic, there are a lot of sound issues discussed.unmute in alsamixer, ~/.asound files, custom devices in XBMC, to name a few solutions. - mbah.pande - 2011-08-01 04:32 what kernel 3.0 do you use? i used kernel 3.0.0-5 with catalyst 11.7 work normal but since my electricity going bad, shutdown 3 time then problem show up ![]() My plymouth broken by “SP5100 TCO timer: mmio address 0xyyyyyyy already in use” try googling about that problem there is a bug. and can be solved by make blacklist but i am new in linux and did not find how to do it? ![]() Linux is Fascinating and push me to learn and learn but some time make me crazy to thanks guys for help

It seems to me that many people are experiencing similar problems ... Thanks in advance! - chessplayer - 2011-08-01 15:12 devil103 Wrote:A little drastic, isn't it? Hi, are you using the 3.0 from xorg-edgers? (so 3.0.0.-7 ?). Any reason not to use 11.7? Also: did you still have to apply the patches as mentioned in the first post (although the bkl-patch has a 2.6.39 in its name ... ?)? Thanks for your time! ----- so, I found your older posts, but reading through all of this is somewhat tiring ... Still, the question remains: any reason not to use 11.7? Ok, according to Robotica, even this should work now without patching --> should I succeed, i will let everybody know how things work out ... - wobu - 2011-08-01 15:40 chessplayer Wrote:Well, are these top secret or would it be ok if you posted them here for everyone to see? http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=830836&postcount=233 - chessplayer - 2011-08-01 17:41 wobu Wrote:http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=830836&postcount=233 So, just to be sure: I take it you managed to get everything up and running using this or Wytraven's tutorial? If so, there is hope, since my board is also an ASUS E35M1 ...
- htpcero - 2011-08-01 19:29 After upgrading catalyst to 11.7 and rebuilding XBMC from GIT master (on my 11.04/64bits/E350 mobo), I found that navi-x plugin streams are very unstable: even streaming the news from msnbc would break: video freezes after a few minutes and audio continues for a while and the box becomes unresponsive (only a hard reboot will fix it) Anybody running into the same issue - any workaournd? Note - Lars ppa with xbmc-pvr was updated mid-july and has this same problem. The previous lars release was fine though. |
