Dropping Frames - limenet - 2011-04-18 Hi all, having some troubles playing 1080p videos. It drops down to 8 - 10fps whilst playing any type of 1080p .mkv movie and is unwatchable. I have tried streaming the same video sources to my laptop and in VLC over a wireless N network they play flawlessly. The laptop has an Intel 45 express mobile chipset. My system specs are as follows - Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS Linux 2.6.32-32-generic-pae on i686 Pentium® Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz, 2 cores / 4 GIG's ram Video card is an GMA X4500 XBMC is 10.1 and installed by PPA Paste bin log http://pastebin.com/Jsa84sp6 I notice there is alot of mention of DTS in the log but not quite sure what's going on. Any thoughts? - sgeoxd - 2011-04-21 Doesn't seem like hardware decoding is taking place. VDPAU with an NVIDIA card is great. Looks like you have Intel, may want to search the forums for VAAPI and ensure that is enabled to make the GPU do some of the heavy lifting. :isclaimer:: That's an observation based on your description. Don't know enough about what is in the log file to say for certain. |
