VDR VNSI - No EPG - ant_thomas - 2011-04-21

Upgraded to build "2:11.0-pvr+odk28~git20110419.3513480-0ubuntu1~ppa+odk28~lucid" and XBMC no longer loads the VDR EPG. All channels are empty but the VDR EPG is actually full. (I can check via the VDR Live web interface plugin).

No amount of resetting the EPG or PVR databases helps. Deleting the .db files doesn't work either.

Same here. The latest working build is 20110324 so I've downgraded. You might find it in your /var/cache/apt/archives folder.

- opdenkamp - 2011-04-24

it's a problem in the add-on.

Unfortunately I have just upgraded for the first time in a couple of months and don't have the working build in my cache folder.

I was able to download the xbmc-data and xbmc-skin-confluence packages off the launchpad build result page for the odk14 version but for some reason the xbmc-bin package isn't available for download there.

Could you (or anyone else) please be so kind and upload the i386 version of the xbmc-bin (odk14) to any filehoster so I could get my EPG back?

Your help is most appreciated.

Or would the other option be for the older VNSI PVR addon be made available since it's apparently the addon which is the issue?

Yeah, if that is possible (given that there haven't been any changes in XBMC itself which would make the older vdr/vnsi add-on incompatible with the current XBMC build) then that would be a better option.

Now we just need to find someone who's willing to upload. Rolleyes

older would not work i think they change the protocol. It's way faster to build your own package i use Archlinux and i like it's PKGBUILD makes even dummy like me who can't program in any programming language to build packages.
If you are using ubuntu packages from some ppa repo they usually provide the debian build scripts all you have to do is replace version number and newer source and build it should provide a proper deb file, never done this before because i don't use ubuntu/debian. Or use good all checkinstall.

Have you tried that one: https://launchpad.net/~lars-opdenkamp/+archive/xbmc-build-test/+sourcepub/1563700/+listing-archive-extra

What you need for eg. 64-bit is:

Code:
xbmc-bin_11.0-pvr+odk14~git20110324.28a2544~ppa+odk14~lucid_amd64.deb
xbmc_11.0-pvr+odk14~git20110324.28a2544~ppa+odk14~lucid_all.deb
xbmc-data_11.0-pvr+odk14~git20110324.28a2544~ppa+odk14~lucid_all.deb
xbmc-skin-confluence_11.0-pvr+odk14~git20110324.28a2544~ppa+odk14~lucid_all.deb

Sweet! I spent quite a while on launchpad trying to find the packages but I guess I didn't look in the right place after all...

Thanks a lot. Got the odk14 installed and EPG working now. Only thing I notice is that channel logos are not displayed in the 'info' overlay when changing channels.

Well it was a little bit tricky to find it. I was following the labels of the diff patches to find that build Wink

I guess you can live with that issue until the the VNSI-clent will be brought up to date.

cheers

I have a wierd problem with my epg's too. When I first run xbmc, my call script deletes the Epg4.db and TV12.db files so I start with a clean epg. The epg loads and is correct for about 1/2 hour. (Every now and then I get no epg). Then I get stuck on the program which was current when the epg loaded and nothing afterwards, then about an hour later I have no epg at all.

I think it may be something to do with the timezone offsets not quite working. I am in Chicago so -6GMT.

- opdenkamp - 2011-04-26

90% sure it's a vdr-vnsi only issue. but still, please pastebin a full debug log.

- rdoac - 2011-04-26

Ah, after 10pm tonight my program guide appears again..
