How do I coustomize the remote mapping in Openelec.tv
#1
I now have an Ion system set up with windows 7 and Xbmc, and Im happy with the way I can controll xbmc with my Harmony one.

In a few days my new htpc build will arrive, and Im planning to set it up with Openelec.tv. One of my concerns is to set up Openelec keymapping the same way as I have it on my ion. What would be the best way for me to do that?

Here is my keyboard xml (this is on top of xbmcs default mappings) :

Code:
<keymap>
  <global>
    <keyboard>
      <f7>RunScript(script.xbmc.subtitles)</f7>
      <f5>UpdateLibrary(video)</f5>
      <f6>PlayDVD</f6>
      <f8>LoadProfile(Joran,['prompt'])</f8>
      <f9>LoadProfile(Kids,['prompt'])</f9>
      <f3>subtitledelayminus</f3>
      <f4>subtitledelayplus</f4>
    </keyboard>
  </global>
</keymap>

My new htpc:

Ive been googled and reading related threads at forums, but still I am stuck. Anyone who could help me sort this out?

I am using Openelec and I checked and have that file in my implementation. It doesn't show up via Samba but if you connect to the Openelec box via SSH it is there. I'm not sure if it is part of a normal XBMC install or if it is something the folks at Openelec have done as part of their customization of XBMC.

Maybe check with them on their forum?

Hope this helps.

Ive decided to go for xbmc live now instead of openelec.

Installed xbmc live, but now I cant find the xbmc live machine (under network shares) from my windows 7 laptop. How do I copy the keyboard.xml to my xbmc live install? Or, how do I create a new xml file in xbmc live? Network is working on windows7 machine and xbmc live machine, and Im able to connect to the xbmc live machine from laptop using putty.

Im sorry for asking all this noob questions, but Ive been searching the forums for hours now and feeling kind of stuck here

Edit: I downloaded WinSCP and it does exactly what I want

Edit2: the remote still doesent work, any suggestion for troubleshooting?

Isn't it working completely? Like no input at all?

Try this, and choose your receiver/remote.
sudo dpkg-reconfigure lirc

Maybe you need a driver for that remote?
