Hi,

I just installed XBMC on a computer that I want to use as a media server. But it doesn't start.

I accessed it through Remote desktop. The computer does not have a functioning graphics card. (Could very well be the problem )

Can anyone shed light on this. See also the error log during startup.

to use XBMC via RDP you have to set it to Windowed Fullscreen instead of True Fullscreen.
You may also run into Performance Problems with 1080 Content and no Graphics Card to speed up decoding.

Tried windowed full-screen, and the other options as well, but to no avail.
As the error message is: failed to init rendering system, can anyone confirm if a graphics card is neccessary?

Yes a DirectX9 or better card and its drivers are necessary.
