Is it possible to force XBMC to default to the WASAPI HDMI Output rather than the DirectSound HDMI?

Some times if the input is changed or AV Reciever is switched off while XBMC is running it switches over from WASAPI to DirectSound, is it possible to force it always to use WASAPI? Maybe in advancedsettings.xml?

I have the same issue, it would be great to change it permanently.
