Do I Have Linux?
#1
Hi, first post here, apologies in advance.

Just received my XIOS XS, My Summary Information page says my OS is Linux 3.0.50
How exactly do i update to Kodi (XBMC) 14.2? I had a look here http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Linux
How do i get terminal?

My XBMC Version is 13.2.

I managed to instal an Android Version, it appears under PROGRAMS / ANDROID APPS, but its running on top of 13.
When i pull up the summary page there, it says i'm running ANDROID 4.2.2 (kernel: Linux 3.0.5) and KODI 14.2

I was expecting that the update would boot me into 14.2, rather than run 14.2 from within 13.2?

Thanks Freebs, i've been in there already and had a good look around, its a minefield of information for experts perhaps. i just want to find the answers to preparing a card for firmware upgrades and setting up 14.2 as the default launch.

Should i even bother upgrading to 14.2, and is XBMC 13.2 on Linux 13 better than Kodi 14.2 on Android?

It's based on android. The thing is, Android is based on linux Wink. BBut it's still different to a "normal" linux machine. So I would follow this:

The devices do function better with linux IMHO. The Tofu linux they now use boots directly to Kodi and the newest version. I believe CronicCoery is behind the development on that Tofu Linux. He was building linux builds over at Xda-Developers.
