I'm having a problem with my install of XBMC Dharma Live and an HP remote and receiver. I had read on the forums that this should work out the box.

The issue is that i cant get XBMC to work using it. The IR receiver is getting power and also receiving keypresses from the remote but nothing happens in XBMC. Am i missing a setting that needs to be turned on?

I am also having the same issue if anyone out there has a solution.

I have been doing a bit of searching, and I know that you have to use LIRC, however dont seem to be able to get this to work properly.

http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/hp/ has the details of the remote, and there is a guide at http://www.lirc.org/html/install.html#installing but I cant make sense of it.

Any help would be great

I just followed it for my media center and its now working great.
