I`m running windows 7 and Kodi v16.0 “Jarvis” with Aeon nox Silvo skin.
Used to have the same setup with Kodi v15.2 "Isengrad"

When I start Kodi it starts up to a black screen and just stays there. I then need to use the "window" button and minimize kodi and close it. When I try to start it again nothing happens. But if I wait 5 minutes Kodi will start normally or sometimes goes to black screen again.

Any way to fix this?

The move to dx 11 from dx 9 is the big difference between the builds, ensure you have a proper direct x 11 install and that your graphic card supports this. Try turning off graphic hardware acceleration to see if that might help, it is curious that on occasion you can get Kodi up, smacks of gfx drivers need an update. On exit Kodi will be busy for a few seconds as it closes down routines in the background, if in this time your try to restart, Kodi will not respond, you need to wait for the clean-up before you can restart. (the debug log will tell you how much time you need to wait).
