Solved Kodi 19.0 freezes when video is played through Google Drive addon
#1
Hi, I just installed a fresh build of Kodi 19.0 Matrix on my Windows 10 PC. Local videos are playing perfectly. However, whenever I play a video stored in my Google Drive using cguZZman's Google Drive addon, the video starts normally, but after 5 to 10 seconds, it freezes, although the mouse pointer keeps functioning. After that, if I click on stop video, Kodi stops responding and I have to force exit it.
This is what comes up in the log file - CVideoPlayerAudio :: Process - stream stalled. I have an optical fiber connection, so internet speed is not the issue. And this issue is happening with all the videos stored in my Google Drive, even the small-sized low-bitrate ones.
Also, the Google Drive addon was working perfectly in Kodi Leia.
Please let me know how to fix this.

You need to post a complete log. Not just a single line. The problem may be there in that line but may have started elsewhere in the log.

Hi @jmgibson1981

Appreciate the quick response.

Kindly find below the complete log-

In the end, as I wrote above, Kodi stopped responding, and I had to force end the process using task manager in Windows 10.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Should be noted this is a windows support thread, it appears cguZZMan is still supporting the add-on here. Might be a good idea to request/encourage a Matrix update as I don't see it listed here. Add-on:Google Drive (wiki)

This addon is already available on the official Kodi Matrix repository

I do see the add-on is available with Matrix now, will wonders never cease. Likely source of support is that specific thread.

Finally solved it.

Add the following lines in advancedsettings.xml-

  <network>
    <disablehttp2>true</disablehttp2>
  </network>

Google Drive videos are playing perfectly on Kodi Matrix now.
