Just installed the latest XBMC on my HTPC and bought the Blu-Ray version of Avatar. It does not play however in XBMC but the normal DVD does.
So can XBMC play Blu-Ray normally or do I need to install other plug-ins or something?

Short answer is no.
Longer answer with a yes and some work is located in a sticky thread on top of this forum section.
