[LIVE] Config questions
#1
hi there,

I've got XBMCFreak version of Live installed on my Revo as i wanted to compare against my windows7 install and have a few questions as i'm a linux noob.

I asked in their forum but didn't get an answer, but i figured these were linux questions so hopefully i can get help here Smile

Is there a way to get to the desktop as it boot right to xbmc? I want to change the resolution of the VGA output as it is not high enough as well as raise the audio volume. Or do i need to do it through the command prompt?

As well, how can i see if my IR receiver driver was installed as it doesn't seem to be working?

Thanks in advance for any support Smile

Close xbmc (powermenu exit)
Login at prompt
type: startx
Right click on the desktop and then go to applications -> Shells -> Bash

Then type xrandr to play with the resolution (http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-change-dis...randr.html)
or alsamixer to play with the sound levels.

To return to xbmc right click on desktop then applications -> video -> xbmc

thanks toddwv.

I tried xrandr and it didn't let me raise the resolution higher than the current setting.

Guess I need to dig a little deeper into that (must not realize my display can go higher than 1280 x1024).

I am using a revo with an nvidia ion video card, is there an app for nvidia?
