ffmpeg fixed it - so we could look into what they did and do something similar in XBMC then. (and dedicating about 20 hours of work of course haha)

will you keep us updated when it's get merged ?
i stopped testing frodo when the .srt workarround for blu-ray stopped working.
but now that the .pgs subs will work it's finally solved when merged Cool

Does this also resolve the display of the forced subs that Hakuya had an Eden patch for?

No forced subs support yet. We can backport that from ffmpeg after the current patch went into mainline.
