xbmc removed after upgrade

According to the build log on the PPA site there were build failures in the i386 version. They are most likely in transition given the jump in SVN changes. I'm sure it will only be another day or two till they get it all worked out. Have faith! Big Grin

Code:
/var/cache/apt/archives/
the file name for mine was xbmc-bin_1%3a9.11+svn28042-lucid1_amd64.deb
once installed, it allows you to install all needed packages again. don't forget to remove the new xbmc-bin first.

i hope that helps at least while they fix this or the updated version is released.

Have you tried that yet? Does it work?

Yeah... just got my old 28256 version running, thanks for the tip Trevelyan!
I'm a bit of a nube but I managed to force the install with --force-depends, then started up Synaptic and it picked up the missing packages... for some reason it was crashing and I found out through the log that it was missing the confluence skin. Found that through synaptic and everything is good now.

Cheers,
G

ah good news; when changing some days ago from stable to SVN on lucid minimal 64, I presumed that I did something wrong Wink

still it seemed like it installed fine but I have no clue how to start it manually since xbmc-live won't install because of unmet dependencies

Looks like the fix for this might be coming:
http://trac.xbmc.org/changeset/31139

I wonder if we could get a build done soon, I might email wattazoum see if this is possible...

Edit: decided against that, that would be directly asking for support, I'll just hope someone sees this thread

The new xbmc/svn seems to work for audio/video however all plugins & scripts are failing (e.g. navi-x, soccer net, and all others).

Anyone ran into the same issue? hints on what to do to bring the plugins back to life?

seems like the scrapers are broken too. I get search results with the movie but when I choose one it just says "No Info Found" rather than downloading the fanart/thumbs and info.

Looks like the problem with all plugins broken could be 64-bit specific:

.... just hoping the devs will get the amd64 build back on track sometime soon...
