But this week nothing will play. At first could still play programs from last week but all recent programs (EastEnders for 7th and 8th September for instance, will no longer play, although they are listed. What is happening It seems the Level3 server is now down ?? If so anyone have anybody have definite news on this and are there any other working servers like Level3 that could be added to the server option in the BBC iPlayer addon ??. This really sucks big time.

High time the bloody BBC issued Internet Only TV licences for a say a 25% of normal licence fee and gave an encrypted internet streaming service with on demand too for all the millions of Expats who simply want to watch home TV but have to put up with the anal geo blocking. Okay we can (or could) use proxy servers or download illegal content. Sure we all outside of the UK HAVE no option other than to watch UK TV through illegal methods and yet almost everybody is willing to pay for a legal internet based UK TV service which would surely help raise funds for the hard pressed BBC. So why are the BBC so painfully stupid when it would raise them revenue.

Oh and no do not blame geo based copyright as all the BBC (and ITV, CH4 etc) need to do is to tell their suppliers in no uncertain terms that they will either buy with Worldwide distribution (okay encrypted via internet streaming ) to licenced ExPat viewers, or tell the program suppliers to politely F.O. They will soon come around if all the TV companies did the same.

Most ExPats have absolutely NO legal way to watch their favourite UK TV shows, plenty of illegal ways thank goodness. So for now long live the hackers they do a great service to us all which we highly appreciat3e and praise. DEATH TO GEO BLOCKING. We need to start a massive worldwide campaign to fight this anti social crap restrictive system designed to make even more millions for the TV and Movie producers.
Will find a workaround

Thanks for a great addon.

The easiest solution for all is if the iPlayer was handled by the BBC's commercial arm and be advertising based.
HTPCs: 2 x Chromecast with Google TV
Audio: Pioneer VSX-819HK & S-HS 100 5.1 Speakers
Server: HP Compaq Pro 6300, 4GB RAM, 8.75TB, Bodhi Linux 5.x, NFS, MySQL

Rubbish. ABC Australia, Swedish Radio, Danmarks Radio, and NRK Norway all manage to have working systems without commercial advertising. Kodi is regarded as a 'niche' system compared to the other device routes where the BBC iPlayer program works well.
Or simply make a percentage of the BBC license fee explicitly for online content (and possibly optional), where that includes log-in credentials which are then required to access the iPlayer services. But also make such licenses available to anyone worldwide for a suitable smaller fee, with perhaps some limitations as now (given there are certain OTA broadcast programmes which aren't available at all on iPlayer, either live or catch-up).

But we're getting somewhat off-topic for the iPlayer add-on, plus the iPlayer funding and accessibility rant has been ongoing at least as long as iPlayer itself has in its various guises.

Are any of those services the envy of the world and provide original content to the entire planet?

Also on iPlayer Lite Level 3 does not work for me but Akamai works perfectly.

Your point about advertising being what exactly? Advertisng distorts the whole concept of public service broadcasting. Keep advertising off the BBC.
its publicly funded - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC read first paragraph or two.
