[CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC
[/quote]Ok... that does not sound good. Your launchers.xml file may be corrupted. Go into Advanced Launcher settings and try to restore a backup with a date/time before the problem occurs.

This tip led to the solution.

I found no backups available when selecting "Import XML file (restore backup)", but I instead selected my *current* launchers.xml file. I don't know why that worked, but it seems like it imported and modified my current "corrupted" file. I then continued with step #2 and upgraded to 2.2.5 successfully. 2.2.5 is the latest in the Angelscry repo afaik.

Thanks again.

Great, that you were able to fix the problem. Concerning the fact that you do not have any backup. Does the Activate auto-backup option is on?
Is anyone else having trouble with the ComicVine scraper? No matter how I name files, I still get "no data found" errors. I have tried with XBMC 12 and 13, even tried a clean install, same results.

I will check this...

The problem seems to be related to the ComicVine API (http://www.comicvine.com/forums/api-deve...1534133/#2) which return 102 error message when making queries on volume of issues. And so it totally affects the Advanced Launcher scrapper.

It was on by default. Perhaps both problems (lack of any backup and corrupted launchers.xml) were caused by the fact I was updating from a very old version of Advanced Launcher. I don't have it in front of me at the moment, but I think it was 1.7.9 or thereabouts before I updated to 2.2.5 and had this problem.

Edit: specifically I suppose the older version didn't keep backups and had a outdated structure compared to the new.
Hello,

I am trying to use your v2.2.6 addon in a nightly build of XBMC 13 Gotham.

If I try to add the repository on the first page of this thread, and then install the addon, I get a "dependencies not met" error and can't install it.

I tried to directly download the file but the repository came up with a 404 error.

What steps do I need to install it in a Gotham build?

I just fixed the direct download link. For the Gotham build :
  • Close XBMC.
  • Download the zip archive of Advanced Launcher (link on the first post of this thread).
  • Extract the zip archive into xbmc/addons directory (overwrite the existing plugin.program.advanced.launcher directory).
  • Then Restart XBMC.
The direct download link returns with a 404. Please correct the link. I'm on the newest Gotham nightly as well.

Definitively fixed.
Well... Tried to install version 2.2.6 the way you instructed, but XBMC still complaints about "dependencies not met".
I'm on XBMC Alpha 12 from feb. 9th (nightly).

You cannot install it directly from XBMC. You need to copy/paste the add-on files into the xbmc/addon directory. I'm on :

Code:
Starting XBMC (13.0-ALPHA12 Git:20140208-40e06e7). Platform: x86 Linux 64-bit
Using Debug XBMC x64 build, compiled Feb  9 2014 by GCC 4.8.2 for x86 Linux 64-bit 3.12.4
Running on Linux 64-bit (Manjaro Linux, 3.12.9-1-MANJARO x86_64)

and version 2.2.6 of Advanced Launcher is running on my system.
But that was exactly how I did it. Copying it to the addon folder, but when I start up XBMC again, it complaints about Advanced Launcher and says "dependencies not met" and ask me to disable it. Sad

Maybe I should try the build you are using. Looks like it is one day older than mine. That might do the trick.
Well, tried to downgrade to same nightly, but that didn't help. Still get the "dependencies not met" fail Sad

I cannot help you more. If we have the same version of Advanced Launcher and she same version of XBMC and that it was working on my system but not on yours, so it mean that you have a problem with your system. Sorry to be rude, but if you do not how decompress a zipped archive and copy/paste a directory, maybe using the development version of XBMC is not a good move. So... if you still want to use XBMC Gotham, you will have to wait it's official release to use Advanced Launcher.
