kapperz Wrote:Am I correct that I could run this on a windows machine on the same network as my XBMC? I'm running v10.1-Live on an Acer Revo AR3610. As long as I edit the xml file to point to the IP address of the XBMC, right?
That's right, as long as you can access your thubmnails from the windows machine

bravido, sorry about the delay, I didn't get a mail to say there'd been a thread update..
Quote:If you can run this command manually, and then tell me the output, that would help debug the issue. To run manually, telnet to XBMC on 9090, then right-click-paste that exact command. It will spit something back at you, and that's what i need to see.
Any chance you could expand on that a little? How do I telnet to xbmc? Can I ssh onto it (I already have ssh secure shell client installed) - or is it something different? Is there a default id/pwd?

There is no username/pw. It differs a bit based on your operating system, but basically you'd do:
command prompt --> telnet [xbmc_ip_address] 9090
then paste the command in

OK, I've activated telnet (on Windows 7) and typed:
o IP address 9090
but it tells me could not open connection to the host. Would I need to open/forward this port in the firewall/router?
NOTE: the IP I've typed in is the IP of the PC I'm actually telnetting on - I'm running xbmc on the same PC.

Not sure what you mean by 'o'. It should be
Code:
telnet ip_address port
Yes, port 9090 needs to be open on any firewalls in between your box and XBMC.

In the telnet window 'o' is open.
I've opened port 9090 in Windows 7 for both inbound and outbound tcp and udp but it still can't connect.
Code:
Connecting To IP ADDRESS...Could not open connection to the host, on port 9090
: Connect failed
Is it OK to use the IP of the PC I'm actually on? That is where xbmc is currently running.

Der,yeah. I didn't mean literally "IP ADDRESS". Use localhost instead.

lol - I've not literally written 'IP ADDRESS', I just haven't repeated it above.
I feel a right noob.Huh
Typing
Code:
open localhost 9090
returns:
Connecting to localhost... and the cursor just flashes.

cursor flashes = connected Smile

Now, copy that command from my earlier post and right-click-paste it in the telnet window.

Hi Brad,
realy needed this tool to run on XBMC linux.
Any chance you could fix the base directory issue on linux or perhaps publish the source code so that i can make my own adjustments?
cheers,

Hi, nice script, will be very usefull when I get it to work properly Smile

my problem is I don't have a music library setup, I'm using mysql and the script fails because it cant connect to the music library.

I have create the DB xbmc_music (in hope to fix the problem) but now it says the query fails and the scripts stops there.

anyway to have it work without having a music library at all?
