What do you think about Quartz going full HD (1080)?

I voted no as I have both an atv2 and a 720p TV, so its worthless for me on two accounts. Obviously I intend to upgrade one day so it would be nice then. I would onlly hope if you do go full HD, there is still a lower version available.

For me it isn't necessary atm. My HTPC is used in combination with a Sony 720p TV.
But if i upgrade, it would be nice to have.
I agree with westcoastbias, if we... We need to have both 720 and 1080.

I am curious to see what resolution is used most by the Quartz users. Big Grin

Frontend : Openelec 3.0.3 running on AMD Fusion A6-3500
Backend : Ubuntu 13.04 running with TVHeadend 3.5.x
Remote : Motorola Nyxboard Hybrid (revised) / Boxee remote
Ziggo TV Channel Logo Pack (Dutch)

not a big deal imho art this point, it upscales fine to my 1080p panny now as well is fine on my 720p LG ...

Though if you want to future proof its fine imo. Thought I wouldn't get too nervous about it just yet.

Again, just my opinion. Wink

I am not sure the ATV2 is able to run it smoothly. Isn't the whole idea to make this a lightweight skin?
But of course if it was possible to choose between 720p or 1080p, and the 720p version wouldnt be slowed down by it....

BT :)

I didn't vote, as I don't know what the difference would be. I doubt it would look better, although I could be wrong. For me, it won't add much as I don't have a 1080p tv and on my computer screen the 720p looks great already. (even if not in 16x9)

I would like to point out that the poll choice is kind of wrong "No, can't use it on ATV2" is incorrect because all it would do is scale it down so unless you make the images all 2x the size and thus slowing down the skin it would make no difference

Skins I have done....

And others in the past...

Hmm.. I could swear that last time I tried (few months ago) ATV2 refused to run on Foundation (720 folder deleted). But I can check it out.

My biggest concern here are ATV2 users as 1080 textures will have to scale down because of ATV2 720p output and I believe that device does not have enough HP to do it quickly. So even if I'm wrong and technically it would work, practically performance drop on ATV2 would be noticeable.
