Hi,

I have now setup my New harmony remote with the HTPC and all seem to work fine.

I can now Power on and off the HTPC with the Harmony remote (the orignal remote did not give me this option just power on) and the menu seems fine, I will test it further and let you know.

when you first install it it give you a option to select the type of remote you have, so which means its compatible with few different remotes.

I noticed that the 700 seems to have a more reactive tilt sensor and better brighter backlit (white) compared to the orange of the 650 another thing the rechargeable batteries it comes with are 2000mAh with low self discharge not sure how good they are but i also have Duracell 200mAh stay charged so any issues I will swap them over.

also on the harmony 700 box it said it can control 8 devices but everywhere else (websites) and the software its can only do 6 devices.

the remote was bought directly from Logitech.

Hi,

I'm going to replace the heatsink with Prolimatech Samuel 17 + Enermax PWM with low noise.

This is due to my current water cooled cpu cooler Antec 620 developing a fault (clicking noise) - and was OTT for a HTPC anyway Smile

PS: following up on the above after you configure the Harmoney 700, you can plug in the Harmony 650 and still have 6 Devices (even though the limit is 5) Smile

Thanks,

I have bought this one

http://www.prolimatech.com/en/products/d...157&page=1

and this fan

http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/cust...13560.html

I also have the Enermax T.B Silence PWM which i have installed in my Qnap (might swap them around - depending on noise / air flow)

PS: then reason i chose this fan is because im not going to overclock the HTPC and my CPU is a low power one.

UPDATE 19-04-12:

I have changed a few items

SilverStone GD05 case (with front USB3 interface connected to the back USB3 ports - I had to purchase a additional converter from coolermaster / I have one Fan active inthe case which is a Enermax 12cm low db fan)
Sapphire AMD 7750 1GB Card (because my original 6670 passive did not fit or any other passive GPU with the exception of the HIS 6670 which is not out yet, I bought the 7750 but installed an after market Arctic L2 Plus cooler to make it quieter and its take up less power only 53w, I still looking for a hardware based fan controller for the GPU to make its dead silent)

New Spec:

I can confirm the aftermarket cooler on the 7750 is virtually silent, now just need to update to Eden.

Does anyone know if i need to uninstall the previous version before i install the new one or can i install Eden which will upgrade any previous versions?

Congrat.....very well done!

Are you a gamer? Because HD2000 iGPU in i5-2500T should be enough for HTPC.......

I like those Orb.....if you are ready for bitstreaming HD audio, you can install this XBMC "XBMC-RC2 HDAudio.zip".....if you want a fresh installation, you can un-install the previous version first.......if you want more guide, you can check out my signature!

>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

thanks guys for the feedback and advice.

i did not run the iGPU becuase i read that all Intel iGPU could not handle 24p properly, because i had issue in the past with igpu 6310 i thought i'll just buy gpu. im not gamer but wanted to be future ready Smile and having had the 6670 which was a flawless GPU I wanted some on the same level if not slighlty better and this was perfect more performance with less power consumption,

I will be download the HD audio pack as im ready Smile

Thanks
