AMD will still be the best bang-4-the-buck... HD4000 still cannot compete with AMD's A6/A8 built-in GPUs -- and the HD4000 is only available on higher-end IBs which are multiples more expensive than the A6/A8s
I'm not an expert but I play one at work. |

For a very low power consumption CPU with HD4000 and still can playback everything that HD6550D can playback, it should be fairly close race this time around....
This is where the new iVy Bridge sine- Benchmarks: Power Consumption >Alienware X51- do it all HTPC >Simplify XBMC configurations >HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio! |

I am still in the planning stage for a HTPC build but I have a vague memory of reading the you would need to go Intel for the Linux builds? |

I'm still considering it because I might turn my HTPC into my main pc in the near future when I move. Before I look into making the expensive purchase I was curious about its XBMC performance. Anyone have any ideas on how the 4000 would work?
