[RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon

I tried streaming the EURO 2012 games today on my ATV2 and it kept failing (seemed to start for a split second and stop - no GUI errors). So, I decided it was time to update to the newest iOS and latest Seas0nPass since I was still on 5.0 and thought that might be the problem (didn't check the forums). After getting everything back up (including a fresh install of XBMC/BlueCop repo), I was having the same problems as before. My error logs had the following error:

ERROR: RTMP_ReadPacket, failed to read RTMP packet header

I searched around and found folks saying this is a problem with the librtmp.0.dylib file (the version shipped with XBMC being the latest stable file, but out of date). A lot of posts suggested downloading BlueCop's version from his site, but I continued to have problems with that one. Finally found a more recent thread on an NBA topic (credit: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1106384) which suggested a different version:

Replacing the /Applications/XBMC.frappliance/Frameworks/librtmp.0.dylib with that one did the trick for me. Streaming is working again!
Can you give details on how to replace that file? I've been trying to watch things on ESPN 3 to no avail. I'm fairly tech savvy for a novice so I might be able to figure it out before you get a chance to respond, but I'm sure other's would appreciate it too.

Thanks!

*EDIT: Nevermind. The detailed instructions are in the link you provided.

**EDIT #2: I updated the "librtmp.0.dylib" file and my ESPN 3 live events are back to normal. Thanks a ton!

Does anyone have ESPN with comcast working?

Replacing the file also worked great for me.

Works fine on my dsl connection but if I try to tether to my cell phone for data connection, I get a script error? Is there a reason why I can't use a diff data provider?

Now, I am getting this on the ipad too. When I open up the stream it give me a script. Is there a way to replace that file on the ipad to give it a shot? Thanks in advance

My ATV2 froze up and I had to do a complete restore to get it back up and running. I went ahead and upgraded to the latest iOS, rejailbroke, installed XBMC, and installed all the repositories. I also put in the new librtmp.0.dylib file mentioned a few posts above.

Now when I try to open the ESPN plugin I get the following error:

"Error: Script Failed! plugin.video.espn3"

It's not even opening it. Anyone else having this problem?

AUZambo, this worked for me on my ATV2. Put it in /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons/plugin.video.espn3

This fails in Crystalbuntu, but if you replace the default.py in the addon folder with the one from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?9lcrl67vcy6bzif the add on loads, but won't show the most recent matches, only the ones up to mid-November. Any ideas how to fix this? Add on works fine in Windows 7. Thanks.

I don't this ever use this because I don't watch sports. if anyone wants anything fixed then post a log of the failure.

If you are trying to get service you don't pay for or aren't authorized for then don't bother posting.

I have no idea where this default.py came from or when it was released but it worked for me on the apple tv 2. Thank you so much!

those anyone know how to make it work on windows?

For XBMCBuntu, I was able to make ESPN3 links work by enabling ESPN and ESPN2. Now, I can watch replays and live feeds on ESPN3. I can't watch ESPN or ESPN2, but that might require a cableaccount that has access to those channels. Kind of a weird fix.

I'm having a similar problem to above where it's only showing me espn 3 content and not espn or espn 2. I have Comcast and am able to watch everything through a normal browser or app.

Any suggestions?

Trying to watch on my ATV2...it's always worked, but last time I used it was a few months ago. Now, I try to watch live ESPN3 feed, it appears to start--I can see about two seconds of the video--but then it crashes back to the previous screen, without any error message. Any ideas?
