So i found a way to watch area restricted content with external episodes. If you put the proxy on from the start and you do a search for your tv show of your interest the add on returns script error. If you put the proxy off and you do a search for your tv show of your interest the add on finds the tv show but when you press the episode does not show the external link in order to choose it and play. So the trick is :
- Put the proxy off
- Search for your tv show
- select it in order to see the episodes
- Now get into the add on menu setup and put the proxy on
- Press the episode that you want to see and this is it, the exeternal link appears and you can watch it now.

lol actually. I'll fix that I thought I put that fix in. I can get it to work without doing all that. so I can test, which external videos are you watching that you had to do this to?

I'm getting no subtitle when proxy is turn on. It's enable and I can see the sub.srt(unknown)(1/1) but its not displaying.
I have video so right now only way to get subtitle is download manually and browse to it.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

ok strange it actually sounds like an xbmc issue and not an addon problem but I'll have to look into it. I have a couple of questions first.
1. What device are you using xbmc on?
2. How are you manually downloading the subtitle?
3. Can you post a log? (remember to generate the issue/error first then export the logs)

I'm using Pi with latest official openelec.
I've tried uninstall reboot, then re-install reboot etc but it didn't solve the problem
Your addon can grab the subtitle link in the log, thats what I use to download manually.
Regional restriction just started for me maybe last two days here, enable proxy, thats when it started acting strange with the subtitle.
Last night subtitle did not display on screen the whole day.
But today its working fine now with proxy turn on.

Here is the log when I had the problem
I think I figured it out but it will have to wait until the weekend for me to fix. Seems that the issue is with the timestamp. It's using your local time to generate a timestamp but comparing it to the timestamp in the proxy region you select. So if you select US the timestamp fails because the timestamp used doesn't match the US time.

I was able to watch videos until the last two updates. I am located in the US but I tried enabling the proxy to USA to see if this makes any difference. It does not. Additionally, I tried to uninstall, reboot and reinstall several times.
Anyway, I am using ATV2 on Frodo 12.3 and unable to go beyond the episodes listing. Once I try to get to the next screen with the screen resolution option - it gives VIKI script error.
Here is the logfile. The VIKI script just stops.

Ok, I think I fixed the issue. close it all down do an update and see if it works now.

I reupdated the module and still having errors.
I uploaded the logfile from the time I started the Viki til when I get the error message to give you a bigger picture. Does it matter which Advanced XML file I use?

Hi dknlght, just FYI Viki is giving a script error. It looks like grebit2 is having the same problem. I will try to find out how to post my log like he did so maybe I can help.

unfortunately the logs aren't giving me any details on the error. I thought your issue was the same h04n9 but looks like it's not. Has it been working for you on this same device and all of a sudden doesn't work? this error is usually related to you not having the right modules it needs but it normally shows up with a new install or someone starting over because they forgot to install all the components.
