[RELEASE] X10 - lights (Domotica Commander)
Dependencies Not Met when installing 1.03 from a zip.
Using latest Gotham nightly on Windows 8.1.
Not sure if it's on my end or if the add-on is not compatible with Gotham yet?
Perhaps there is another way to install?
Any help appreciated.

Never mind, manually unzipped to folder and working now.

I have checked the zip file and the structure is ok for XBMC V12.x.
You can install it by hand, this is described in the manual. (Extract zip file and place the directory in the correct place)
Also you should use the zip file for release V1.0.1 or Higher,
from that moment the structure of the zip file is correct.

Latest releases and manuals can be found on the first page of this forum

Hope this helps.

Its unbelievable but time after time I keep getting the same message:
"afhankelijkheden komen niet overeen".
I`ve tried to install the addon on a Linux HTPC and a Windows machine also,
but again, the same message appears.

I read the manual
I tried to install from zipfile
I tried to install manually (although I didn`t know where to put what)
I tried a Windows machine as well A Linux HTPC
I`ve tried nummerous versions: 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3

In general XBMC is so easy to work with, but this I cant manageConfused
I`ve searched the manual (10 times already) but cant find any explanation how to install the addon
manually and where to put the X10 commander folder. (for Linux and Windows)

I`m sorry for all this, please be patient with meWink

Have you also tried to install the V1.0.1 or V1.0.2 on a windows (7 or 8) machine? (automatic and manualy?)
The only thing I can imagine with OpenElec, is that the python, urllib and/or urllib2 are not available.
The addon depends on these two libraries.
Mabey you can check if you have these libraries.

SHOOP,

I did a fresh Windows 7 and XBMC Gotham install but the same 'error' happened.
It didn`t matter if it was a zip file or added manually

apparenty i`m the only one with this particulary problem, so I guess i`m doing something wrong.
my knowledge about python, urlib/urlib2, is limited, so I don`t know how to check this and where to find these libraries

I`m all out of ideas, so I guess I will be manually hit the lightdimmer for a while!
Thanks for your replies and suggestions so far!

kind regards

Shoop_NL,

Today I received my Cm15Pro (marmitek) and the LM12G (lamp dimmer)
When I use the software that came by the Cm15 pro (activehomepro) , everything works fine!

But when I use XBMC nothing happens.
The CM15Pro is connected to the same pc where XBMC is installed.

The settings I use in X10commander, are the standard settings. (ip 127.0.0.1 - port 8086)

By device I selected x10 commander.
events are active and set to my wishes...

Is there something else I`m doing wrong?

---------------------------------------------------------------

Almost solved!!

when I choose to put the lights on or off everything works great.
Only dimming the lights won`t work. bright and dim both don`t work...nothing happens.
change the setting to on or off and it works again

Is this Dim/Bright problem, the combination of XBMC addon with x10 commander?
or does it not work with only x10 commander?

Okay, I need to take a look at that.
Can you arange to place a log file here in the forum in which I can see a dim and bright action.
Some details on how to arrange a log file can be found in the manual at chapter 8.2

After hours and hours of searching and trying, I discovered the following:

when I select 'free definable action' instead of the standard 'action',
and I type 'dim or bright' en then a certain value, it works!
No idea why I its not working the normal way.

sometimes the licht intensity of the lamps changes,
don`t know why or how that is possible.
But I keep searching and trying...I`m to close nowBlush

Manual install is described in the manual.
But you found it out yourself.

I've encountered the same issue in both frodo and Gotham. For Gotham the fix for meeting the dependencies is changing the xbmc version in the addon.xml file to version 2.1.0 instead of the current 1.0

I am facing an additional problem with the plugin which is authentication. I am using Domoticz on a separate rpi which handles my lights etc. the environment is secured with a password. When using your plugin with authentication enabled it is not working.

I have debugged and if I execute the json call in a browser it does execute and handle my lamps. Yet in the plugin it gives an error. Removing the auth is a work around and will execute commands correctly.

My assumption is that it gives an error on the json API because the auth isn't base encoded. See: http://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Domoticz_API/JSON_URL's

I will include logs later when I am able to edit the log on a computer (tablet currently) although I don't have Domoticz log.
