Hello and thanks for visiting what seems to be my daily question thread. I have 4 question that I'm going to throw in this thread. Hopefully I can receive the same help that i've been receiving through these forums
Question 1: Playback frequency
Basically I'm using this HTPC as a media playback, internet browsing and gaming system. Am confused as to how and where to set my refresh rate. From what I've read, it should be somewhere around 24hz as that is what frequency the movies are played back at. Is this true? Do I need to set this in Nvidia control panel, or is there a setting in XBMC? Currently I have Nvidia control panel at 60hz and XBMC is set to match the frequency of the movie...
Question 2: Legible text
As stated earlier, I do want to use this system to browse the internet here and there. Most recently used to try to find answers to these questions. I've noticed that the text is barley legible up on the big screen though. Is there any work around to this? I have my resolution set to something like 1830X1030 (resized to fit screen) on a 47" LG LCD/LED TV. I have downloaded the stop squinting plug-in for Firefox, but I was curious if there is anything else I could be doing.
Question 3: Shutdown sub-menu
Currently there are about 5 option in the shutdown sub-menu: exit, hibernate, suspend, sleep, log off and reboot (if memory serves me correctly) Can I edit this down to just suspend and exit? I couldn't find the Shutdown menu in the sub-menu section of settings.
Question 4: Remote control for Windows/XBMC
I picked up a Aerb Multifunction 2.4 G Mini Wireless Keyboard & Infrared Remote Control to control my XBMC and it seems to function....ok I guess. It has its annoying quirks like the air mouse function that can't be permanently disabled. I wanted a remote with a keyboard and this one looked the most appealing.
Anyway, the remote works fine for direction through xmbc but I'd like to remap the keys or change the way xbmc/windows perceives them. For example, there is a button on there that resembles the Android back key and the home key. I'd like to remap them go back one and go to the main menu screen respectively. Also, there is a power button the top that when pressed, shuts down the system completely (similar to windows shut down). I'd like to remap that to suspend so that I can wake the system with the remote again. If I use Windows shut down, I need to physically press the power button on the system. I thought the first two buttons might be able to be configured in XBMC and the power button maybe with a macro if I can figure out what command the remote is sending to Windows.
Thanks for reading my wall of text!
