Hi there...
Many people now have many mahy TV shows all on demand rujnning of 1TB external USB drives and the like.. where they have many (say for argument sake 10+) complete TV shows all on demand.
I always thought it would be cool if you could turn these collections into "homebrew TV channels"
As in select the entre disk into a playlist and then randomise it BUT the individual eps would still show in order.
This way you could que all your shows and just run them off the xbox and yet when a show is randomly turns up, the next time the same show turns up it wll be the NEXT episode of that show, rather than a ep from 4 seasons latter.
In addition if the playlist remebered its last place when you pressed stop... (like continue form the middle of a file.. but the middle of a playlist) so everytime you play the playlist it continued from where you left off....
Thanks in advance.. I hope that made sense...

That doesn't make sense. What would this allow someone to do that you can't already do?

It's for the "just blob in front of the telly and watch whatever it spews at me" crowd, rather than the "I want to watch <this>" crowd.
This seems like something achievable from a python plugin. Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting. Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. What would this allow someone to do that you can't already do? well at the moment if you que up all your fav scifi shows say.. um 15 shows 7 seasons each and random it all, then all theepisodes come in the wrong order... like you igt get ep 1x20 of Voyager and then after some other shows you see ep 7x10.... when you should be getting 1x21... . . Is that clearer? jmarshall Wrote:It's for the "just blob in front of the telly and watch whatever it spews at me" crowd, rather than the "I want to watch <this>" crowd. Yea, it is for the "I have seen my fav show so many times I can quote it all backwards, but i havn['t watched these 5 shows for about a year... so lets watch them and you can suprise me on what we watch" crowd.

Sounds like you want to randomize multiple tv shows that well play randomly. However you want each show to play its episodes in order.

This is a great idea, you could have loads of channels comedy, sci-fi, action, soaps, films. Its almost like a mash up of the music library's party mode and the already watched tag with a little number checking to make sure they play in order.
