I am running a first gen AppleTV. the only mod was adding the launcher and nito. No hardware modifications.
XBMC, Boxee and the atv have been running with no issues on a CRT tv using component video.
I just upgraded to a Vizio 47" LCD tv. No matter what resolution I run the AppleTV at, when I go into XBMC I lose all video. I know it boots into XBMC because I can hear the different sounds. I have tried both HDMI cables and Component video.
When I have the ATV hooked up to the CRT tv, I can go into XBMC and I try to adjust the video settings, but the Display option does not change from 720x480.
Here are my logs
xbmc log
http://pastebin.com/rr3fmPdC
crash report
http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/642289/
there wasn't a Console log.
Launcher is 3.2.5. XBMC is 10.1 (and was before also) and I just did the update to see if that would fix it.
Boxee works fine.
Thanks
