Hi Memphiz,
thanks for looking into this!

what kind of afp server are u using - and what kind of media and stuff (pathes and so on)... as long as i can't reproduce this crash there is no possibility to fix it ... and even when i can reproduce it chances are pretty low aswell. But one step after another. One of you both guys need to develope a reproduction procedure for me which crashes on your side 100% when doing the same stuff ... if you are able to, post it here (even by using a short sample of a special movie when its needed)
Unfortunately, when re-watching the same scene that crashed XBMC before, then it will not cause a crash again. So it seems the movie scene does not really matter and the issue can not be reproduced at will. The only reproducible thing seems to be that I never manage to get through any movie via AFP on XBMC without at least one crash.
I am running OS X Lion 10.7.2 on a Mac Mini 2011 model. I have shared the usual "Movies" folder in my home directory with password protection using Lions build in file sharing.
The nice thing about using AFP shares on the Mac Mini is that that Mac wakes up from the hibernate state automatically once these shares are accessed via XBMC.
I wonder: is the AFP client coded into iOS by Apple or does it come with XBMC? I am asking because the Firecore aTV Mediaplayer seems to be able to use AFP just fine (and I wonder if both players share the same client base).
