VIDEO and MUSIC have their own libraries, which can be saved, cleaned up, exported, imported.
QUESTION : Why not creating a library for PHOTOS ?
My experience:
For 4 different XBMC devices (all EDEN database structure), I share the same VIDEOS, MUSIC & PHOTOS and Thumbnails on an distant NAS
(NO MYSQL)
I add new PHOTOS directly on my NAS from an networked PC
Then, the first XBMC device :
- Reads the new PHOTOS,
- Creates the right thumbnails in the NAS shared Thumbnails folder,
- Updates its own PHOTO database
(by updating its own file /Userdata/Database/Textures6.db )
The PROBLEM:
Each of the 3 others XBMC devices must update their PHOTO database (Textures6.db), one after one, by reading the newly created NAS PHOTOS folders
To avoid this, I manually copy from a PC, the recently updated /Userdata/Database/Textures6.db file of the First XBMC device, to the 3 others
So: everybody is up to date
If PHOTOS had its own library, the Export/Import command could make the job more easily !
-> What do you think ?
-> Is Library impossible for PHOTOS ?
Nb : If this question has been already treated, can you give me the link ?
Many Thanks
