I am getting buffering issues with movies. it will take a bit for the video(has to buffer itself) to first load, and then within 30 seconds it has to buffer again.

if i open the same file on the same system with media player classic, no issues at all, plays fine.

this leads me to it being something in the XBMC that is causing it.

my rips are .mkv's that are large(1080p with the HD audio still intact)

storage is an HP x310

HTPC is an Asus AMD Zacate based system with 2GB of ram and a SSD.

This happens for all the bluray rips. i ripped a DVD of a Louis CK standup, and it plays with 0 issues. other bluray based TV shows, like Band of Brothers, have this issue.

This is on a lan, hard wired in, 1Gb speed.

Does turning on hardware acceleration fix the problem (Settings | Video | playback)?

Mac Mini and ASRock ION 330 running Windows 7 and XBMC

Good question, I knew it was on and went a head and double checked, it is enabled.

Method is set to auto detect, should I switch this maybe?
