How to update nightly build on atv2

Ned Scott Wrote:"Darwin" is iOS system stuff, unrelated to updating XBMC.

If you are on a recent nightly or official build then you are using the pre-Eden repo, which is only listing Skins that are known to be working with that code (there's some major changes going on right now with skin APIs).

So does this mean I'm update to date using...

wget http://hadm.net/xbmc/xbmc_atv2
dpkg -i xbmc_atv2

I'll try posting a more relevant version # soonest.

I have noticed though that the Confluence home screen is different, really cool actually, it has however removed all my covers from films. I will try posting on a more relevant thread though.

thanks

at the current moment the "official" build is newer than the unofficial nightly build. So, no. You'll want to update via SSH command

Code:
apt-get update

and then

Code:
apt-get upgrade

ktjensen Wrote:1) For you to be able to use many ADDONs (aka Plug-ins) you should install the NIGHTLY BUILD, which is highly compatable with the latest version of IOS 4.3 for the ATV2. There are a few interesting ADDON that help get more out of XBMC.

2) If you are fully functional after testing many functions, then just keep using the current OFFICIAL RELEASE. Also, if you have to ask someone else if you should, then you SHOULD NOT, as you do not know why you would need to, so dont.

Is there any way of finding out what the latest ADDONs are?

Go to the iOS specific FAQ listed here and search for add-ons.

Btw, it's generally a no-no to drag up threads that are several months old. Best to start a new one.
